Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Keyboard

I'm buying it with my next build (next week), so I'll let you know how it works out!

I have one. They have some nice features (Macros , Sound Mute , Volume Controls). It is nice to type on and bulid quality seems to be good :)

x6 doesnt have anti-ghost plus some of the buttons have been placed in a different postion, so ive read i.e no pound (£) button

True it’s not got anti-ghost, but it does have the same shorter keys which are back light, so I would have thought it should have a similar feel about it.

Here's a larger picture. If I'm not mistaken it's US layout.

That look very nice indeed, i think im gonna probably get it despite it having an only red backlit system and the side buttons to the left look off putting as my little finger will probably keep pressing buttons, with some perseverance its gotta be better than my crappy Saitek eclipse 3 (which broke due to a glass of coke that spilt on it is now broke thankgod) only bummer is have the saitek k140 on its way will probably arrive tomorrow ill just keep it as spare lol

Whatever you do, don't buy a Lycosa! I have one - and it is a wonderful keyboard.
But Razer customer support is the worst I have ever had the displeasure contacting!

My Lycosa has a broken space bar. Basically they told me to throw the keyboard away and buy another one as they will not supply spare parts.

Typing is a problem but I refuse to give up my argument with them and refuse to throw this keyboard away.

Thanks for that, i was very much considering getting a lycosa but there were far far too many gripes with the build quility and customer support. i dunno why they won't make their next line of keyboards because i can count on both hands the number of gaming keyboards that currently lead the pack, theres plenty of headroom on the market for a top brand like razer to snatch the sales, they make too many mouses atm lol atm but logitech is winning by miles.

P.S Lycosa = overpriced (damn them to hell)

Microsoft make great quality peripherals. The US layout is a deal breaker for me, but for others it's probably not much of an issue.
Ah no, I couldn't live with a US keyboard layout either. That's disappointing, I'm going to have to look for something else now instead.

I doubt the UK model will have the US layout, most of the keyboards on OcUK show a US layout but that's not what you actually end up with.

Anti ghost?

It means that you can hold more than 3 keys down at once and they will all get recognized. The X4 has “Advanced anti-ghosting technology” which means you can hold up to 26 Keys down at a time. I’m not sure how you would hold down 26 keys while gaming, as the average person only has 10 fingers, feet as well maybe .
