Hey, I'm starting an acrylic case build and have the basic shell for the case but looking at it am thinking that it looks a bit generic and dull. I was wondering if you guys/girls coudl have a look for how I could spice her up a bit? thanks

put a fan hole at the back for each comp, window in the side of any shape you want, LED strips round the front through opaque acrylic may work well. You could make the edge curved to give a bit of a different look, use different colours, casters, build it into something else such as into a wardrobe etc. Also , something that bugs me allot is the way the graphics card power cables stick out, you could make encasements for these - would improve the looks and the cooling efficiency.

Just a question but how thick is the acrylic, colours your planning to use etc. as people will be able to refine really well if you have more information on this... good luck!

Hey, sorry thsi woudl jjust be the shell for the case so there woudl be plenty of fans (it's intended for an sr2, around the centeral rectangle are going to be rads (hard to describe) but the fans will look good. The thing which was nagging at me was the boxy feel to the design - i'v tried hexagons etc bt these used up too much floor space - I also woudln't be sure on how I could curve the centeral acrylic so it didn't just look like a badly bent rectangle. In the center it will be with pumps and reses - i'v tried waterfal resevoirs on the edges but am not too taken by them. This design doesn't have the side pannels on either - but yeah they will have some amazing windows (assuming I can get to use a laser cutter with a large enough bed). It's just the rectangular design, any ideas?

make the taop clear acrilic, you can bend it by either a heat gun or heat strip then bending it round to form the right shape either using a mold or my personal bodge job favorite a rolling pin. plastic forming machines might be another way to go.

could you do anything like the ha 922 side panels or even making the drive bays stick out a bit more.

you should look into custom lighting and fan switches which are quite easy to make. you could drill holes for these into the case and flick switches for fans etc. look at this thread of how i didmy fan switch.

you gota pick a colour scheme too you could go with smoked panels or fully clear open look to it. You could then fill it with some LED strips to add some colour. If i remember correctly there was a computer that had a cclindrical res mounted sideways on the top of the case. This could make it more unique

Simple box design made to look interesting, note the curved edges and additions using coloured acrylic. Bending acrylic yourself is a pain & expensive when it goes wrong ( 600x300x3mm sheet costs apprx £15 for decent acrylic ) and it can be difficult to get a supplier/producer of acrylic to bend large curves due to them needing a form to do it.

Bending edges to form curves ( small radius ) is straight forward enough with time and care and a heat gun, there are plenty of videos on ytub showing this, again it's down to taking your time, but acrylic is forgiving ( using good materials ) if you make a mistake as it can be re done.

good luck :)
