Actually - whilst my finger hovers over the buy now button - what is the engine like? Hard to explain, but when playing some games (Fallout 3 is the most recent example, STALKER is another), I get motion sickness and quite chronic headaches (I couldn't play FA3 for more then 5 minutes for example).

FT experiences the same issues in many games (Bluriah, Prince of Blursia, Blurout Paradise etc) - he'll be able to advise how it is :)

I think the fact he's rank 35 means it's okay :p

Well it's different for everyone - I can play quake/hl games for hours without problems for example but I know a friend who has real trouble with those.

I think (not sure of course!) that the biggest problem for me is the bob, which you could always disable in hl games (cl_bob). Fallout 3 was a big annoyance because I couldn't get my £44.99 back due to Steams stupid policy.

i get this playing it in eyefinity for too long, however single screen i suffer none of the above

Retail is probably is probably cheapest but I'd go for EA Store + 25% off voucher, think it comes out around £24. Can't remember code of the top of my head, sure someone can!

Install EADM, login, download, install. Can even remove EADM if you're that way inclined, copy/paste the install files beforehand if you don't want download it all again.

It's £37 on the EA download site.

Anyway: £29.99 on Steam and downloading at 2.3MB/sec. I'll log onto the OcUK server tonight (assuming the OP is still valid) and you can all have an easy kill :p.

Yo.

As uv says, I get motion sickness in quite a lot of games. By the sounds of it quite similar games to yourself, though I also had problems with HL2 (weirdly only EP1/EP2 though - the original was fine - perhaps the FOV changed in the later eps?).

Most of my problems are caused by head bob, low fov or stupid motion blur effects. Thankfully BFBC2 doesn't really seem to have any of those, or at least only subtle ones if it does. I can play for hours happily (aside from being stressed about all the work I'm avoiding) :p

Three things I would do as soon as you buy it though:

1) Edit the .ini file to increase the fov a bit (c/users/yourname/docs/bfbc2/).
2) Look up the input tweaks to improve mouse responsiveness and apply them.
3) Reduce the brightness/contrast levels in game by a fair whack. Perhaps by as much as 50%. The game won't look quite so pretty but you'll also not get eye cancer from 5 minutes play on the Atacama Desert map.

it's aimbot city out there at the mo, don't know what's going on, maybe who ever sells these hacks are having a promotion or something, it seems everyone is headshoting one shot kills at the moment

Its cause people who are running R9 servers have turned off PB to get the thing populated. Its in a right mess atm because of the following;

a. For what ever reason PB off servers are now listed in both lists now, not just the PB off servers

b. lots of servers have rolled back to R8 and are using the old PB on/off switch so R8 servers will be showing as off but but be on and also listed in both on and off lists.

c. R9 servers that are running PB off will be listed in both lists and PB will actually be off

d. There is no way to know if you are joining a R8 or a R9 sever

Confused much ?

Stick to servers you know for the time being would be my advice right now.
(for the record we are R8, PB streaming but with PB reporting as off) Roll on R10/Client patch

yeah last week or so been hard work with the servers :(

going to try to get everyone i know on ours to try to get it busy again. any of you willing to giz a hand would be very welcome thanks.

No, if they are R9 and PB off Then PB will deffo be off, they will be listed in the On and OFF list as far as the actual filter is concerned but "server info" ill show them as OFF

if they are R8 and PB off Then they maybe off (although unlikely), they will be listed in the On and OFF list as far as the actual filter is concerned but "server info" ill show them as OFF

Its amazing how the community found a workaround and then EA "fixed" the work around thus making it useless again.

The community has made more progress then EA/Dice have only for them to negate it.
