Why work when I can get £42,000 in benefits a year AND drive a Mercedes?

I know, I know it is the fail, however these quotes cannot be made up.:mad:

'It doesn't bother me that taxpayers are paying for me to have a large family,' added Mrs Davey.

'We couldn't afford to care for our children without benefits, but as long as they have everything they need, I don't think I'm selfish.

If the government wants to give me money, I'm happy to take it. We get what we're entitled to. I don't put in anything because I don't pay taxes, but if I could work I would.'

And she adds: 'I've always wanted a big family - no one can tell me how many kids I can have whether I'm working or not.'

Despite filing for bankruptcy 18 months ago after racking up £20,000 of debt on mail order catalogues they still insist on splashing out on four presents per child at birthdays and last Christmas spent £2,000 on gifts alone.

Will stop quoting now, however the article is littered with fabulous quotes like this.

This really angers me, as a single person paying tax and struggling to afford to live alone, the fact that I am subsidising these morons makes my blood boil.

There should be very few, if any situations where you are better of unemployed rather than working. Want to cut the deficit? Start with scroungers like this

At time like this a T-shirt I once saw springs to mind

"If you can't feed 'em, don't breed 'em"

All credit to him, he's taking what he's offered. It's not his fault we've encouraged this for decades in the UK. The only way we'll stop this happening is to fundamentally change the benefits system, but no political party is brave enough to even try. Welfare charities will be in an uproar if anyone touches it.

Crazy, after the 3rd child no more benefits should be paid or at least cut down drastically, what kind of life are you giving and showing your children by doing such and act, we have possible 7 children that will never work and thus end up being like mum and dad.

I am all for helping families out but thankfully we have plenty of hard working decent families in this country that make it what it is.

You say that all the money goes back into the economy, its not like they are putting all the money into a savings account.

Sure they can. Do a quick Goog search for "I'm totally psyched about this abortion" (it will autofill for you). Then check the first link and the 3rd blogspot link. :D

I am sure they can be taken out of context, however the fact that they are looking to increase the family and have not worked for 8 years? shows their attitude.

That last kid must have just surfed out...

Okay now I've got that out of the way :p

I think they need to limit the benefits to a certain number of children (I.e. After - for example - a fourth child appears - They lock the benefit wagon - Fifth child pops out - No increase)

Yes, sorry. I don't mean to make light of the situation, but you can imagine what it's like here in Detroit, also. After many many years you just gotta realise nothing we can say will help, and hope they just fall victim to a drive-by in their little ghetto.
