After the awesomeness of Battlefield Bad Company 2, I hope Battlefield 3 will return to WW2. I'm not really sure how Battlefield 3 set in a modern period can be hugely different to BFBC2, other than player count and jets. I kinda want to a see a FULL Battlefield 1942 remake, subs and everything along with the environment destruction.

That does sound sweet. With levels from every campaign, some africa and eastern front maps would be great. Stalingrad with destruction would kick ass
BF1943 is a consolised remake of BF1942.
Im not sure if the pc version that is being worked on is the same though.
Unless new information has arisen, BF1943 was held back on pc so it didn't interfere with the launch and sales of BC2, because people prefer modern war to ww2.
The way i've alwayse seen it is that BF194* will be reserved for ww2, BF* will be reserved for modern and BF214* will be for future.
Could be wrong though. And also vietnam blows a hole through my theory but meh.

Well your theory is correct. The 1940's being the decade that WWII took place and 214* is a date from the future

Looking forward to the m1911 pistol being nerfed. Just been on a HC server with 2 recon guys using just that pistol lol. Both where camping and had very high scores as its 100% accurate and no recoil so takes you out in 1/2 hits every time lol.

Tried out the single player just now, and my god it's boring...Just done the WWII mission and met my first tank and I just couldn't wait for it to end. Not gonna bother with that I don't think, back to online.

Heck, it's like some people haven't even played BF1942 here!!!
BF1943 contains 3 maps, one of which (Coral Sea) was a patched add-on to 1942. Also, the destruction isn't as good in 1943, neither are the weapons and class selection, I could go on.......
Besides, it's like this for good reason, BF1943 was a DICE experiment turned into a cheap game.
A full blown 1942 remake; B17's, Spitfire's and Stuka's, Destroyers, Submarines, Stalingrad, El Alamein, GuadalCanal and Market Garden. With the graphics of BFBC2 and the destruction 2.0 loveliness, aaaaaah glorious!
