TV Election debates - how are they doing?

What does everyone think of the poll results from the 4000 voters? Doesn't seem to reflect the feelings in here..

Must say that I was very impressed with Nick Cleggs performance. Its not going to change the way I plan to vote (conservative), but I have to say that I was very impressed with Clegg.

What I would love to see is Conservative election win, with Liberals moving into opposition. Think that Cameron v Clegg in the commons regularly would make for some very interesting days.

As it is, what I expect to happen is a hung parliament (which I actually think it the worst possible outcome, would rather have any of the parties in "properly" than a hung parliament)

Looking forward to the 2nd debate.

Well according to the ITV News at ten poll, Nick Clegg won the debate by a mile.

His party are going to get my vote at the election as well - well done Nick.

He did his job. He sold himself and the party to the audience. Brown didn't do a bad job, but Cameron came out looking like a fool.

The common man doesn't have time to trawl through pages of policy and analyse this. He relies on the media to inform his decision and Clegg has done a good job of selling himself today. His policies might not add up, but that means little to the average joe who is looking for someone to vote for.

I think you need to read a bit more on their polices and the direction they want to take its wrong IMO. However, that's my personal feelings....

I'm quite aware of their policies which is why I choose to support them. I may not agree on all of their policies but I agree more with them than I do the others.

Additionally, the fact still remains that I can't stand the thought of another Labour or Tory government.

I must be alone in thinking Clegg came over as a utter tool. While trying too hard to distance himself and be your mate all he did was prove he is not ready to be Prime Minister.

The best result for this country is the Torys in power and the libdems to keep them in check as the opposition.

This is a complete abstraction, but humour me.

Say Party X had perfect policies, literally everything you want in party. But then they had one policy that was I don't know, aborting every 5th pregnancy detected in hospitals (lie, obviously). How could you take Party X seriously? And whatsmore, morally support them?

Clegg is ok but policies of Lib Dems are madness, getting rid of our nuclear weapons, getting rid of nuclear power.

What do we need them for? Lets face it anyone nukes this country the world is ****ed anyway. £100bn spent on Trident could be much better spent on buying our gold reserves back.

And why does this never get mentioned in debates. First thing i'd ask that muppet is why he sold all the gold off.

I can't morally support anything political as it is, so that's a moot point

If you did want an answer though, I would seriously consider still voting for them if I believed their policies were, barring the one policy, for the benefit of myself and the country.

I understand what you're trying to say, but I don't personally think the Liberals policies are so drastic or unobtainable (well, most of them anyway) as to warrant not considering voting for them.
