I've seen 1 definite aimbot and there was no way you could get close to him, he was camped on 1 of the side islands on Isla Innocents and the moment you got near the edge of the cliff he'd headshot you.
 
our server went on a hack catch frenzy yesterday, got 5 including a server regular and someone who's been in our TS for the last few weeks :s

Why do people bother ? No idea how long he'd been using it but never suspected him as he was average to say the least. I just don't see the point in it, I really don't. The only thing I can think is that they are trying to impress you before they bang a clan application in, but we've never been bothered about how good you are and more interested in who you are which is why we don't actively recruit :(
 
there's a lot of people who hack as legit as possible. just to gain a slight edge over people. the amount people that got caught hacking back in CS 1.6 days that I thought weren't that great was quite amusing :D

Crazy.. bad times hey!

So R8 apparently loses the server from peoples history!

What admin tool are you using with R8?
 
Ok bit of a weird one, i tried to add the SAS beer drinkers server to my favourites (great server btw, always has a good atmosphere when i play on there). It appears on the favourites list but is greyed out and i am unable to connect to it without using history or server browser :confused:

Refreshing doesn't help, other servers on the list aren't greyed out and work fine.

Its might be because of your punkbuster being flagged on, click to PB option on the right then "refresh" that might sort the problem out.

I'm sure LOAM will tell you what to do if not!

Isn't that sadly, i've made sure all filters are disabled and it and two others still appear greyed out.

Who was the person? A PM would be fine if you're not wanting to post it on the public forum :)

Just so I know who to keep an eye on...
 
firstly, i would look at what goon said, then ask how many servers are in your favs, a bug (what a bug in BC2 ?) starts to grey your fav servers out once you add more than 6 (i think its 6, might be more).

Ive got 5 in mine and they are all listed as active

Ah that's the problem then, i've got 9 added so that would explain why exactly three of them are always greyed out, i'll go in and (begrudgingly) delete the ones i use less and add to this post with the result.

keep a note of them in text file as its something they are fixing in the next client release ( i think )

ohh look, joy the server just crashed :)

Good suggestion, but all it was was all of the servers from the OP of this thread so i'll just readd them when the patch is released.

Don't suppose anyone has any idea what else'll be added in the patch?

What kind of hack was he using though? I mean there are quite a range out there from the subtle to the obvious. Theres always the really subtle aimbots (not that they matter given how the game has no spectator function) that would let him occasionally headshot for an advantage that isn't too obvious. Or it could just be spot hacks (do they still exist after beta?) to reveal everyones location which is nigh impossible to prove.
 
not sure tbh, its listed as an Aimbot 50120 EB keep their codes guarded so theres no way to find out what it was, other than ask him (he's in our IRC at the moment but not speaking :P )
