Just been on the C4 news.
Donations to Conservative party last month: ~£1.5m
Donations to Labour party last month: ~£750k
Donations to Lib Dems last month: ~£20k
We can start to see how much of the establishment is against us now.
Hmm... I've seen those same figures given as donations during the first week of the election campaign.
Wonder if Cameron is kicking himself too - I can't remember exactly but I'm sure he was one of the ones pushing for the TV debate thinking that it would highlight Brown's deficiencies. Doh...
His health system changes are deeply unpopular with about half the population, which isn't surprising as the vote was pretty much 53-45 for and against him at the election - the US is more or less completely split in two ideologically. The reason the reforms aren't quite as popular with the Democrats is that they don't go far enough - no public option for example, rather than being opposed to the concept of universal healthcare which was the election promise.
I'm quite looking forward to the rage on the forum if anyone but the Tories get in![]()
It might be coincidence, but oddly enough the approval rating split is very close to the split between those who don't pay Federal tax and those who doHis health system changes are deeply unpopular with about half the population, which isn't surprising as the vote was pretty much 53-45 for and against him at the election - the US is more or less completely split in two ideologically. Will not be voting Lib Dems simply because of their policy on Nuclear (Trident and power stations).
I suppose that leaves just conservatives left to vote for to get Labour out of power.
That is my feeling as well.
But I won't vote conservative and Labour need getting rid of so lets hope a hung parliament results in the Lib Dem polices I like but they keep some for of Nuclear deterrent and invest in nuclear.
