Pepsi Max

I used to drink bottles of Coke normally in a pint glass at home but managed to cut down by only drinking cans.

The other benefit is that its nicer from cans.

5-6 litres a week?! Good god.

That's almost a litre a day.

That amount of any drink (apart from water) is BAD for you. Nip it in the bug. Try a can a day and work your way down if you are addicted.

I used to drink at least 2L of diet coke a day. I recently switched to "no added sugar" cordial and buy sparkling water. I assume this is better for me than the diet coke?

still has loads of sweetners in it. unfortunately.

In terms of whats "better" for me though? I'm aware it still has bad stuff in it but is it on a par with the diet coke in terms of "badness" or am I still managing to do myself a favour by drinking the cordial instead?

Cordial is a good idea.. My gf drinks loads of water anyways so i might take that up :)

Water on its own, tap or bottled, just takes horrible to me.

My teeth are fine, they get checked by the dentist routinely without any problems. Just gotta watch out for the sweetners.

I have 4L left in the house, I'll consume that then move on :)

I stopped drinking any form of cordial/fizzy drink (diet/sugared) and I feel so much better for it.

I've dismissed people saying this in the past, especillay sweetners (<3), but I was wrong. I've lost weight too.

I only drink water, tea, coffee or fruit juice (not from con) now.

It's massively better for you. You can improve this by watering it down a bit more.

I tend to only drink fizzy drinks if I'm out/at restraunts or with alcohol as a mixer

Other than that I have flavoured water, squash or fruit juice, bottled water if I am out and about

Tap water round here is just so nasty though, needs so much squash to make it bareable :(

Thats the answer I was looking for :D Thanks. I do try and use the least amount I can but still retaining the taste of the cordial. Trying to wean myself off all the bad things in my life but since quiting smoking its a hell of a lot harder! :(

What's wrong with water? Drink that instead or juice perhaps.

Not all of us enjoy the taste of plain water I'm afraid.

I've got to like the taste of water with just a splash of no added sugar cordial in, just something more to taste than water. That said I also like the taste of diluted fresh fruit juice. Had to get used to both because my teeth are rubbish.

I suggest you Google the effects of aspartame.... seriously.

Sugar free soft drinks are a lot more dangerous to your health than standard sugar laden ones.

Get a Britta. You can't drink tap water here otherwise. Leave a table on the side and come back to it later and it looks like sewage.

(exageration)

if I could afford one and all the filters then yea, I would get one.

Water here, if left for a little while leaves massive limescale rings in glasses

You should never have to chew your water :p

still, moving soon, so water down in portsmouth, while not fantastic, is better than here :p

but I hope to endeavour into investing in a filter when I can

If you must drink soft drinks then I highly recommend Fentimans Botanically brewed drinks like Ginger Beer or Curious Cola.... compared to Pepsi and coke they are relatively healthy and taste great.
