A Deer appears to have eaten the o/s front of my car :(

Do BMW bodyshops give decent courtesy cars? Whilst transport is transport I don't really want to be driving a 118 for the next 3 weeks.

Was quite a young Deer, poor bugger being mowed down by a diesel. :p

J/K though - the damage that it did was pretty staggering.

Hope it won't be too deer to fix it all.

Maybe you could have stopped though as it didn't look like it had been reining.

I beleive i am well qualified to offer information on BMW bodycentre courtesy cars.

Generally speaking no, they do not offer amazing courtesy cars. Infact in the case of a fault claim against your own insurance, most actually have a small fleet of complete rubbish to satisfy the minimum requirement courtesy car of your cars insurance - my local one has a few Corsas (Not kidding) for this unless you personally opt to pay extra or unless you make an agreement with them prior to the car going in.

Amongst the better cars most do not have anything better than 1 and 3 Series with 4 cylinder diesel engines. The absolute best courtesy car I have ever had was a 320d M Sport, and I've had more 118d's than these.

It's nothing like Service where the loan cars can often be pretty tasty.

I've used BMW Service twice in the last few weeks. On both occasions I was 'treated' to a 116i. I think I described it to the guy as 'a gutless piece of guff' when I returned it.

I don't see the problem in a 116 though. Cheap on fuel for you - cheap on insurance of them. Gets you from A-B, which tbf is not going to be any hardship for a day - I.e. when you get your car serviced.

My M3 is going in in a couple of months. I have no issue whatsover in driving a new 116 around for a day.

The only time that I was slightly bothered by this was when i had a Golf TDI which blew a turbo, to which I was treated with a Polo 1.2 for a week. The same week that I had to commute from North London to Portsmouth every day.

My brother hit a dear on the motorway the other day, hit the deer, span, then hit the barrier. Must be some sort of deer suicide pact going on or something :D
