Had the phone a few hours now and have to say i'm impressed compared to my old G1. It's blazingly fast compared to that in every respect which is what you'd expect.

The phone feels well built (never owned a SE before so haven't been aware of the horror stories with other models) only gripe is that the back cover feels very flimsy , wouldn't like to have to take it off and put it on too many times as it feels like the little plastic lugs holding it on might snap - if they had released this with an aluminium back it would have been great.

The "timescape" is nice but I hope they keep developing it more for example it seems to completely ignore the main Gmail account on the phone and only pulls in mails from other accounts entered in the email program ???? eh ?? it's a google OS for heavens sake lol.

Also would be nice to add more services other than FB/twitter and the O2 feed , why isn't there support for adding RSS feeds under other services , who knows maybe they will add it in future.

Battery life seems ok at the moment but only had one charge so far so will see how it goes - used to have to charge the G1 daily but then it was mostly using the wi-fi all the time.

Also they really should have stuck the usb socket on the bottom its very difficult trying to use the phone with the charging lead sticking out the top lol.

I have just bought one of these. It was on Vodafone, but I'm on o2 so could anyone list all the apn or whatever you need to get mobile internet please.

I have tried the ones listed online with no joy.

I would not work for some reason. I could connect for telephone calls, but it was not allowing me to transfer any data.

Now to get the desire next week, and give them both a test. Or i may even order a incredible in, if i can get hold of one. As i do like having on-board storage, as well as a sd slot.

Ermmm hate to burst you bubble but the Incredible is a CDMA device ie wont work here and is only a Verizon handset.

Good luck in getting one as my contacts over in America have told me that they are near impossible to get hold of one.

Ah, cheers. I think the one that was shipped with the X10 is class 6 :(

Edit: A quick google shows the 32GB Sandisk is also class 4 (Same as the kingston) Will the difference in read/write speeds be noticable do you think?

dont all the apps load off the rom anyway rather than the card ? class 4 will be perfectly fine for media and i doubt youd even notice with apps either

Wasn't thinking of the apps, more the camera picture writing speed and the media reading speeds... you think it's negligible?

couldnt say for sure but ive done similar on admittedly older/slower phones and never noticed any change

the official specs are supposed to be Class 4: 32 Mbit/s (4 MByte/s); Class 6: 48 Mbit/s (6 MByte/s)

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/sdhc-memory-card,2143.html

its not like the camera does any fancy multi shots per second or anything either

once rooted would running 2.1 be fairly straight forward ? what about drivers and stuff ?

im impressed enough with 1.6 tbh but the couple of minor niggles all seem to be caused by it

I thought it would have been backwards compatible in some way, with the standard 3g networks. Although I had not looked into the full specification.

I was going to wait a few weeks for it. As I know you have next to no chance to get one atm, due to only a few being out, when they accidental sent a batch out early.

But if it's not going to work over here, I will scrap that idea.

Yes, it should be a simple case of loading a new ROM on the handset. So in theory you could put a HTC Desire or N1 ROM on the handset.
