Froch Vs. Kessler

why rocklobster? if i really wanted to watch it i would have bought it :P

vian - good to hear, thought it would be :D

good fight, though havnt a clue how the 1 judge got it 117-111 :/

maybe this is the wake up call froch needs, deflate his ego a bit and let him concentrate on boxing. the guy has every chance of making a comeback especially with that chin lol!

I thought Froch actually fought a decent fight. Kessler in my opinion did enough for the win. 111-117 was a little lobsided. Froch gave a decent enough defeat speech. If anything he's gone up in my book. Hopefully he won't go running his mouth off in a day or two saying how he should have won and calling out Calzaghe who would have boxed his ears off. I do expect a KO from Abraham in the next of his fights, and that'll probably be last last we hear of Carl Froch's unknown career.

I hear Khan is gloating on his twitter page. "Amir Khan Laughs" Carl got his ass whooped

WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan is laughing it up. He watched Carl Froch lose his undefeated record, and his WBC super middleweight title, to Mikkel Kessler on Saturday night in Denmark. Khan gets his revenge with a few choice words for Froch, who attacked Khan in the British press after Breidis Prescott knocked him out in under a minute in 2008. Carl Froch got his ass whooped from an opponent Joe Calzaghe beat with ease. Where will he go from this. We all knew he ain't world class; Khan sounded off on his personal Twitter page. Carl Froch, poor guy was whooped before he set his dreams in America. Every American promoter hates him and no TV wants him, I hear. Khan supports every British fighter - except for Froch. He knew the day would come when he would get his revenge to throw some verbal jabs at Froch's first defeat. I'm 100% behind British fighters but he just likes to dig at others, [so] now he can have back his own medicine," Khan said. I'm an honest guy. I don't like Froch, I thought he was a nice guy till he started trash talking bout me and Calzaghe. Froch fans, nothing against you but he digged at me when I was defeated and I always said what goes around comes around.

I think that just about sums it up.. Carl Froch Britains most unpopular champ !

Just seen on SSN Froch has threatened to pull out of the super six unless his fight with Abraham is held in England. Pathetic in victory, pathetic in defeat. What's happened to the 'I'll fight and beat anyone anywhere' stance he's always been so keen to promote?

I don't like Froch but Khan is an idiot as well. He got knocked out by a nobody and is still fighting nobodies.

Khan has potential to become something very special. He's only 23 so for his camp it's one step at a time. Maliginaggi is a decent enough fighter.. Actually a VERY good boxer, just doesn't have the power to KO. But could present Khan a problem with his movement and speed. (the Hatton fight against him wasn't a good example of Maliginaggi) so don't judge him by that. Khan obviously still favorite though.

So back to Froch.. Threatening to pull out unless the fight is in England? Doesn't suprise me. The guy has always been full of BS. Which is exactly why he's not even liked in his own country.

Sad, very sad indeed.

i dont think khan is in any position to laugh at froch, at least froch lost to a world class fighter and khan got ktfo by a nobody and is only just start fighting a cherry picked somebody.

is obvious to me golden boy only picked paulie for khan to look good in US, as they have a similar style but khan has more speed. and also at worst paulie couldnt give khan a embarrassing knock out defeat.

on top of that froch had four tough fights in row now against four world class fighter (same cant be said about khan), he is bounded to lose at least one of them as he isnt that skilled anyway and relie too much on his resilient, iron chin and power (especially the right hand) to win.

but i expect froch to at least do well against abraham, i think he would edge it slightly unless they fight in germany. froch's unpredictable wild swinging style should work well against abraham's turtle style, although abraham arguably have more power. i think only quick moving fighters like ward and direll (who didnt win THAT fight against froch btw) would dominate against froch, who moves like a crusierweight.

i think they should hold the fight in US, so its neutral ground. but it is not going to happen because froch and abraham cant generate enough money in the US...there is too much four letter word in boxing nowadays.

Well I believe that Froch is out of the super six now (I can't see him beating Abraham) so that's kind of a blow. I wonder if he can try and get a match with Bute in Canada or move up and take on Pascal again.

Froch is a good fighter and threw easily the better punches, can't be bothered to look up and see who said Kessler was throwing the better punches.

Kessler threw more, but not better, Froch was clearly just not getting hurt(beyond a little swelling) by Kessler but was standing way to far off, from hell, round 3-4 he was not aggressive and just waiting for Kessler to open up for the perfect knock out punch.

I think Froch would have easily won if he just took the fight to Kessler much earlier and more aggressively, infact I think he could have done that incredibly easily as his punches were harder, hurting Kessler, far far cleaner. It felt like he thought that golden oportunity would come eventually so no need to go mental.

The score was a complete joke, he only lost several rounds due to lack of activity, not one due to being the worse fighter, just out thrown, which is his own fault and something to learn from. Also surprising as I've always seen Froch as a heavy workrate boxer with a bit of power when he needs it. Most rounds were pretty much even in terms of better boxing vs more punches and the fight would normally be scored as almost even rounds each, though I still personally prefer quality over quantity. If Froch had thrown a bit more and waited less for his knock out punch chance, I think he would have walked it to be honest.

There was one absolutely fantastic uppercut he threw that Kessler did very well to move out the way of, early in the 12th I think, had that made contact, it was fight over.

Khan is a little pratt, he got slapped about in a round by a nobody and now he's back to beating bums, he's being brought through like Audley, as in, not at all, maybe he "could" be good if they started treating him like a boxer rather than a goldmine to stupid british fans, we'll probably never know though, though better management could well change that.

Froch though lost a tight fight to a very good boxer and really looked every second of the way through like he was the clearly better fighter, with the wrong gameplan.

Great to see a toe to toe round at the end with some decent boxing but a lot of heart and will to win thrown in for good measure, great fight.

I didn't see the Kessler vs Kalzaghe fight, anyone give a brief idea of how it went? Was Kessler much better his time around and did Kalzaghe win with the usual so many punches its difficult to fight, but not many great shots at all, no quality, just quantity?
