woop! just got it today! but its destroying my 8800gt !! is there a way to find which dx mode ? as i think it may be in 10 and it cant run in that so would prefer to switch down to dx9 if its possible!

I'm on a 8800GT and i have it running like a dream on 1680x1050 on medium settings. You need to force it into DX9 mode and a couple of other settings helped too. First go into my documents\BFBC2 and in that folder open settings.ini in notepad and add:

DxVersion=9
RenderAheadLimit=0

Those two settings boosted my FPS immensely and had no visual impact i could see. Also this helps visibility and gives a little FPS boost, change Bloom to false so it looks like this:

Bloom=false
 
That new patch has totaly ruined the game for me. Whats all this Mickey Mouse pregnant pause when you want to spawn ? :confused:

This causes Flags to be lost.

Also the Hit points now seem retarded.:mad:

They havent sorted out the ping issues like I'm still getting 167 ping on UK servers.

I love this game though and now I'm ****ed off !

Hope they Rectify this soon so that I can put my Dummy back in my mouth.:D

YOU ABSOLUTE GOD ! ha that's amazing ! completely smoothed it all out !
 
Just got to rank 7, and got the AN-94 weapon...
Damage and accuracy wise it's by far better than all I had so far, but now it doesn't have auto shot option which i find kinda hard to kill without.

I quite like the burst and semi automatic assault rifles in games. Maybe you'll prefer the M16 with its 3 round burst, I know I do. I tend to fire in bursts anyway, and find it easier to keep track of ammo in the clip in a tight situation if i'm using a burst fire weapon.

The fix for this has been posted in the thread somewhere :)

1. Open AntiVirus control
2. Goto components / Resident Shield and set Resident Shield to active again.
3. Now click 'manage exceptions'. and click 'Add Path'

browse for the install folder (e.g.: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2)
and documents folder (C:\Users\*****\Documents\BFBC2) and add them both as directory excludes.

As stated previously, this has been fixed. Considering the framerate boost and the (in my eyes) unnoticeable graphical differences between DX10 and 9 it's well worth someone with a lower end card to use DX9 now.
 
I find non-hardcore incredibly frustrating. I'm not sure how many people would be standing after a 0.50cal to the chest :D

There is someone in the =TFU= servers that loves Carl Gustav a little too much ;)

Oh it happens a lot, it takes two hits if not to chest/neck. At least it is making my aiming better.

Although I'm trying not to play recon now until I've unlocked the others.... My K/D ratio (always >1) is now taking a beating as a medic. It was 1/17 just now :D
