Asus rampage III Extreme

I'm in the same boat, have pre-ordred it here and the full funds have already been taken. I'm just hoping the other items I have ordered with this have been allocated and part picked as I've noticed parts going out of stock and don't want anything else now holding this up.

As I've not got enough posts here for free shipping and have to wait about for 2 deliveries to arrive I placed one order.

Guys please don’t turn this thread into a moan about ordering. We all know how pre-order works here. If you’re unhappy or want more info contact OcUK through Customer Service and let’s leave this thread to technical chat. :)

Just hard wire a USB cable through your case, out the back and plug it into a usb port, problem solved

Yea thats a bit "ghetto" for my liking.. I have a hightly modded atcs 840 and a random cable will ruin the looks.. Although i might have to do this unless EVGA can pull their fingers out. Aparently the new intel chipset with native usb/sata 3 is not far away?

Im sorry simulatorman but i have to agree if OCuk did not have a firm date on when this was avalible they should not have put up the preorder 3 weeks with my money is a bit of a joke to be honust.

1 or 2 weeks ok fair enough but 3 now going on 4 is taking the wee a bit

Whilst I can quite see your point and agravation - I think Simulatorman is just trying to say that this is not the best of places to moan about it.Your best bet would be to send a webnote listing your concerns or ring them up.Please don't spoil a good thread about the board itself.

We were told when we put the boards up for pre-order that they would be a week or so before they were delivered. Asus have put the date back constantly and there is nothing we can do.

I noticed this board can take 2xP8 power connectors. Unfortunately my Be Quiet! power supply only comes with 1xP8 connector. I have managed to get hold of a couple of P8 converter cables. One is a 8pin pci-e to P8 and the other is a 2x4pin molex to P8 cable. I have also seen a P4 to P8 cable. I was wondering which of these cables would deliver the most stable 12v output.

IMO it would be the PCI-E, as the PCI-E rails are built to withstand more power than molex.

power question

i have the hx1000w corsiar, that has two 8pin 12v cables. when i put together my pc with this bored do i connect it as i normally would or is there a special method of connecting it involving two of 8 p in connectors. my vga is a single xfx 5970 black edition

I would imagine you would just plug them in to the two P8 sockets along with the 24pin ATX connector.

oh ok, the thing is this is my first rig, i have not done this before and so am not sure wut all the special things about this board go >.>, also i got the corsair dominator gt 2000 mhz ram will i have to do some special volatge settings or will it auto set it for me ??,

i have been in the que for the order ma self since beginning of April, but guys again OCuk is not at fault here and its a good board worth the wait. i have to say though that the usb header thing is a little disappointing but yeah.

You have two EPS/ATX12V 8-4 pin connectors so it’s one each of them into the two 12v 8 pin sockets. It's business as usual.

Got to agree, just got my hands on a Cosmos pure a few weeks ago and it has 4 USB sockets of the front. As I am using a modded USB bracket to provide me with 2 internal USB sockets (for a card reader) the 4 on the case are redundant.

I managed to find some black plastic anti-dust blanking plugs for the USB, eSATA and Firewire sockets on the front panel so at least they wont get damaged.
