hi got a friend going to japan for the world trade fair now was wonder if it would be cheaper to bring a graphics card back.do they use same electricity as us and would you risk having no warranty. bit to risky for the saving if any ?

The parts are standard and all are made to use the same ATX supplies - so even if you bought a graphics card in the USA (where the mains electicity is 120V@60Hz) it will still work in your UK machine as the graphics card only sees DC 12V.

As for buying a graphics card in japan, how much are they costing? Please bear in mind that you will likely have to pay Duty and VAT when bringing it back to the UK. Coupled with the loss of warranty - this will likely make the saving small and quite likely not worth the effort.

Stuff the card down you're nickers and pay no duty :) i would throw it inbetween a cushion and pretend i were pregnant^^ .. Take your wife.
