Hi Guys,

Just looking for some help.
I'm looking at new system and thinking of maybe trying a OcUK pre built system this time instead of doing my own build usually i just upgrade part for part but think its time to do out with old and in with a new system.
Im trying to keep to a £1000 budget but would be needing System, Monitor & possibly Mouse/Keyboard and sound setup. Just wondering what you guys suggest as the best buy from OC for my budget. Looking for gameing and a bit of multimedia watching films and music etc.

Well i'll have to take what i can fit into the budget System and monitor first then the rest out of whats left. Can possibly drop keyboard etc and just get decent system + monitor and upgrade keyboard etc later ;)

ok, well if you wanted a decent full setup, then the Core i3 AVP edition looks good, and thats leaves a nice amount for monitor, keyboard and mouse..

I would supplie links to some, but I'm on my phone at the moment, and cant copy and paste links

Edit: forgot to ask, do you need a OS?

Another Edit: for £834, you can get the AVP i3 rig, a Logitec G11 keyboard, a Logitec 2.1 speaker system, and a 23" Acer monitor, I own the same monitor and speaker system and there great, tho the speakers can have alittle too much bass sometimes, but you still got £170 left, so you could take a G15, and Windows 7, and still have enough left for the mouse you like, anyway, hope this helps you

the xenomorph is an excellent choice [and was designed and named by a genius :D]

its a good base system for your requirements and should provide you a good upgrade platform should you wish to go for a new gpu in the future

the overclocked 530 is more than enough for most people. you could perhaps add a solid state when the next gen comes out to turn it into a lightening quick rig.

How does this system/Mobo stand for future upgrading when needed ?

There's quite a bit of room to upgrade when it comes to the processor as you could move up to something from the i5 range if you so wished, the only thing to keep in mind is that Intel's next processor range Sandy Bridge will be using a new platform socket 1155 I believe but I dont know the ETA on Sandy Bridge.

The alternative would be to go for something AMD based rather than Intel but again theres no guarantee that the current platform AM3 wont be replaced.

Example cpu upgrade :- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-299-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1672

Thanks guys for the answers their and sorry if i were'nt clear but youve answered my questions and more.

"The alternative would be to go for something AMD based rather than Intel but again theres no guarantee that the current platform AM3 wont be replaced."

This is something im trying to battle in my head as i always used to run AMD's great cpu's got plenty of great performances out of the cpu's i had by going with tips from posts on this forum and then a few years ago i switched to pentium but ive pushed evrything and upgraded when and where possible and now i think it's time to offload that system to my brother and start with a new fresh system that may carry me a lot further.

But getting back to that comment and turning it to a question of : Which system would you guys recommend that would be an alternative AMD. As at first i was going to do a build around a 965 BE or 955 BE. but thought after many different builds i put together to maybe try and save my time as dont have much at the moment and go with a pre-built from here.
Lets say going on just a system and monitor for £1000 budget.
like i say keyboard speakers etc i could replace quite easily replace along my way.

Sorry to be a pain and thankyou for all feed back and recommendations you guys a big help.

Just to add ive seen other system's on other site's but i would like to keep to OcUK just for the fact these guys i feel i can trust from reading user reviews and knowing they've been around for years and the amount of people always using the site and these forums.

It seems that AMD + Pre-Built doesnt give much choice on OcUK, the chips you mentioned however are very good indeed 955BE/965BE.

The Xenomorph that I recommended is dual core and costs £704.96, for less money you can get a quad core AMD system http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-210-OK&groupid=43&catid=1444&subcat= when configured with the same graphics (5770) and OS(W7 Premium) it costs £670.97.

If you specifically wanted the 955/965BE processors then the cost would go up as I can only see 1 system based on them http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-017-OP&groupid=43&catid=1444&subcat= the price of £914.31 would include a slightly improved graphics card (5830).

As you mentioned upgrades the AMD systems would offer a slightly better upgrade path due to the motherboard being compatible with the latest AMD X6 processors, as far as I am aware there are no Intel 6 core processors that would fit into the s1156 platform.

Another option would be to ring OcUK to see if they can modify one of the pre-built systems to a spec and price point that your happy with e.g. Titan Krypt with a 955BE, im sure they would be happy to help you :)
