Plenty of posts about Corsair, Antec and other branded power supplies, however I never noticed any info, good or bad about Overclockers own branded power supply units.

I would assume that Overclockers would not put their own name against a product that was not fit for purpose, or is it a case of brand snob value ?

Does anyone have any feed back on these units? Surley several of the members of this forum must have Overclockers own branded equipment.

It is an interesting one. I agree that OCUK have great reputation with only stocking branded power supplies and I'm sure that these OCUK branded ones are not bad.

However, as far as I have seen - there have been no in-depth reviews of these supplies on the respected sites that do the best PSU reviews. Therefore, people on the forums don't have any reviews to reference when comparing PSUs - so invariably a Corsair, Antec, Seasonic, OCZ is suggested- as these supplies have been put under loads of tests and shown to be good.

I hope that OCUK send some sample supplies to places like JonnyGuru so they can put them through some in-depth tests. If they turn out to be good then I'm sure they will become some of the most popular supplies on the site.

I ask as I am about to buy a new unit, the choices being:-

OcUK 850W Quad Rail High Efficiency Power Supply
£58.99 inc VAT

Antec Basiq Plus 550W Modular Power Supply
£57.99 inc VAT

Or do I spend the extra cash and buy an

Antec TruePower New Modular 550W Power Supply
£69.99 inc VAT

Hi
You might want to check out the new range of coolermaster GX psu's.If you don't mind it being non modular.
They have been getting good reviews on the net.
Nice price too

Out of those i would go for the Antec Truepower new one. Never ever skimp on a psu. 850w for less than £60!! That must be a real quality psu!! I think not.

I tend to agree
However £60 for an 850w does make you wonder, especially if Overclockers are putting their name on a product ???

To be fair the OcUK 650W/850W Dual Rail High Efficiency Modular Power Supply do seem to be very bang for bucks for PSU with 80+ Certification (if they are EVER in stock)...it's a shame that the non-modular PSU don't have 80+ Certification.

Thanks for the feedback, anyway looks like I will have to push my pocket money a tad and go for a 650W unit,
Antec TruePower New Modular 650W Power Supply £85.99 inc VAT
however Overclockers have no stock.

Beg's the question, is it worth spending the extra and getting one of the following that are in stock?
Antec TruePower New Modular 750W Power Supply £94.99
or
Antec TruePower New Blue Modular 750W Power Supply £98.99

Any idea what Blue means?

after much thought i went modular. probably not worth the pennies but makes me feel like im at least trying to keep the insides tidy. and im bound to misplace the unused cables. (corsair hx450)
