Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Ps3 here... IM from the wife this afternoon...

[16:06:27] another game has arrived for you
[16:08:38] and T-shirt with skulls on it and a big chest with nipples??!!

Ace =)

i am in a dilemma...i want it for the pc, but they havent got a release date for it, so no one has any idea what capcom planned for us. BUT i really want to play it and dont want to be left out :(, the main problem is the offline mode cpu is as good as useless for practice, so its useless without online play...

so i came to the conclusion, should i get it for the xbox for the time being and sell it when (if ever) the pc version appears, or just save a few bucks. or is there a even better third option?

need to quick so i can get my free t shirt lol

That's exactly the situation i was in. I pretty much don't expect a PC release, so for me, it was either to get an xbox, or to stop playing SF4.

it all depends if you think it's worth spending the money. if you plan on doing/playing lots of other things on your xbox, it makes it a more worthwhile spend. if not, then decide if it's worth it to you.

the main money problem is not the game itself...its the stupid xbox live fees

My copy and dhalism tshirt arrived too - there is no sf4 logo on it whatsoever so im a bit dubious if its 'original'. shall be on after the footy (on ps3)

Just get it mate, its £21 u cant go wrong, when u sell it youl probably get a tenner for it. PC release is more than likly since theres gonna be an arcade release wich uses a WinXP arcade board making the port a no brainer

My advice get it for 360

Been playing rushdown Dudley against some friends earlier, guy is a monster up close.

Getting used to applying his target combos for pressure strings too and his overhead is just...wow.

Hi guys - mine arrived today. 360 copy so if ya see me online then give me a shout. Trying some characters for now and trying to get used to them. Therefore I still suck ;)

Anyway, quick question. Can't find the answer anywhere in the manual. But what does it mean when it says alongside moves for Fei Long, Dudley and Juri:
"Begins when hit by a certain attack" eh? what attack?

Cheers in advance.

That will be for the counter moves I bet, they only activate when hit by some attacks, grabs for example go right through them.

Me and my friend tested Fei and Cammys counter ultra, they are garbage.

OMG - gonna be a bit of an effort working out the certain attacks for all of the characters unless they are uniform across the game.

I like Fei's new ultra but might be a bit difficult to land it if that is the case. his vanilla is hard enough to land successfully without a clear opener - not one that I found anyway. If you land it straight off a focus attack you just bounce the opponent over the screen so you have to dash before you pull it off. pain really - for someone of my low skill anyway.

Dudley is definately my second character now after Ryu, I have nailed all his trials 3 times over but haven't played ANYONE online yet as my copy arrives tomorrow (I hope). If I come across a bad matchup I can always switch back to Ryu :D but I am enjoying learning Dudley. He is ideal for me since I am poor at using combos and links, whereas his target combo's are a piece of cake and aren't really affected by online play. :p

Right, we need a PS3 session of this tomorrow evening, let's say around 8-9pm onwards, a 4-man lobby? Put your name down guys!

hopefully get SSFIV tomorrow :) had some practice on SFIV today to get back into it :D
pre-ordered on shopto and got email saying it was despatched this morning so fingers crossed it will come tomorrow

Same.

We need a place to put a list of everyones IDs for whatever console they are playing on, as it seems quite a few ppl are getting this. Then we can start arranging some friendlies.

LOL, akuma can now die from one gouken combo :o

Full charge denjin hadoken, hard palm juggle for stun and the corner, walk up and hard punch > ex slide palm, hard fireball, hard tatsu = 852 damage, akuma only has 850. That only uses one ex stock as well so he can do more with ex fireballs to ex tatsu etc.

Ah damn my bad, I can get an easy 832 damage but who would let you land that thing fully charged?

An another edit :o

He can do 863 easy, denjin > hard palm, J HP > HP > ex palm > ex fireball > ex tatsu

His target combos are pretty bad damage though, his trials are pretty poor I thought because it really is mostly target combos and super cancels. Doesn't cover any of his awesome juggles which is odd.

I can do his one frame link from his overhead very consistently which is weird, I'm usually not that good at links but my execution has gotten a lot better lately, I can do Sagats cr.lk x2 > cr.lp > fierce tu all the time now, used to find it frickin impossible.

Sagat is still godlike in this game I think after playing with him, still great damage and zoning, though his uppercut trades a lot now and I rarely get a good trade where I can juggle afterwards, against Juri I was getting knocked to the ground when trading. :(

Edit: I did all of Juris trials earlier and jesus christ the last one made me hands hurt, I doubt anybody will ever even use that in a match...ever.
