Retro console and games thread

I picked this up for £25 yesterday

I'm sure it was known as the Atari 2600 Woody. I was born in 79 so this might actually have been produced before I was born. Considering this I think it's in outstanding condition. It's another one of my amazing carboot finds. :D

My retro collection is basically non-existant, it's all gotten lost over the years. PS1 era stuff is the oldest I have.

That metal gear collectors edition was a legendary find Watchtower.

Haha, this reminds me actually, me and a mate found some sealed, new dreamcast games on the shelf in (edit: *competitor* :() the other day. We both bought Soul Calibur sealed for £2.

after seeing the ps1 up the page im going to have to go to ebay and buy one with riiiidge racer and a copy of homework on cd. i can relive exactly what i spent so much time doing 13:eeek: years ago
 
one game that keeps coming up every time i look into anything retro is Valhalla for the amiga,

I dont know how big it was but while i was looking i found there currently remaking it but ive heard a few bad comments on them not sending the key through when you pay.

amazing thread guys - so consider this a bump.
also do people find ebay the best place to get hold of stuff? i dont go to too many carboot sales so wondering if theres any other sites out there.

looking to get hold of an n64, dc and saturn.

Mainly just the consoles and what ever came with them. Some good games is high on my list of things to pick up, but I'm not sure which console I want to work at building up a collection for first. :p

I've got a few of the top ones for some of the consoles, Shenmue, Goldeneye etc. Haven't really got the room to keep them all out and play on them at the moment though. :(

I use to own a Nintendo 64 with Goldeneye. I'm now sticking with purely Sega retro consoles because if I collected everything I'd have no space left to live. If I see something rare and very collectable I'll still buy it regardless for eg the old Atari 2600 Woody.
 
I'm on holiday again and I've picked up some more rare Megadrive games

Shadow Dancer: The Secret Of Shinobi (Japanese with case no manual)
Chakan (Pal case and manual)
Spider-man Venon: Maximum Carnage (Pal with case and manual)
Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (Pal with case and manual)
 
i got loads of snes and megadrive games i am gonna try sell,prob just do them as big lots on ebay,see my post #572.I just havent got the room for them anymore
