For reference, labour made a good faith (and very sensible) attempt to fix things in the 70s which the unions laughed at them for. So yes, to an extent, but some people did try - the unions should regard turning down that opportunity as among the stupidest things they've ever done.

Yup but also let's not forget who kickstarted all the industrial unrest in the '70s, that's right, the Conservatives with wonderful legislation like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_Relations_Act_1971

Proof ITV readers are on crack:

If this debate shows anything it's that as far as the economy is concerned it doesn't really matter who gets in, all 3 of them look and sound they don't have a clue what to really do.

Hang on Gordo... "Banning unskilled workers from outside Europe". What about unskilled workers from inside Europe?

By being the EU you give all other people living within the EU the right to move to your contry so he cant stop them

No, just... no...

Complete comprehension fail.

well cameron said it live on tv , the last time we had industry collapse more than now was in the eighties when Maggie was in power.

I think Cameron will get in but he is not up to it at all.

Clegg is dissappearing off the radar.

I can totally undestand the stuff about labour having 13 yrs and creating a mess, however he comes over as the most professional.

Cameron with real answers on employment in industry. Apprentiseships, cutting taxes on Businesses, investing in science and manufacturing.

Brown and his corporation tax for banks, corporation tax us paid by all business, not just banks.

Cameron on procurement of govt needs from SMEs is a great idea.

Another question for y'all.

How shafted will the North be compared to the South under the Conservatives ?

Cameron is doing surprisingly well against the onslaught from Brown and Clegg, I admit he could answer some questions better but Brown keeps hammering on about cutting tax from rich people and the banks when it affects EVERYONE!

Clegg is driving me mad with his pathetic fence-sitting tactics, he can say anything and the fools are lapping it up - lying his face off against his own manifesto
