But what do you believe? The manifesto or the leader? Both are now massively conflicting on Immigrant amnesty, Euro joining and VAT on houses....

Well the local MP nominee I spoke to seemed confident in the LD's policies as a whole and didn't seem to flaky to me.

Clearly I'm going to vote for a party that appeals to me and helps me, but also in ways that I feel will be beneficial to the country - however, I shan't deny that selfishness kicks in first, i.e. what's in it for me. I'm happy to admit that. I think LD and Conv could have quite an interesting coalition as they both have policies that I agree with.... But, I'm very middle class, European and from a multicultural background, so I tend to warm towards those that ring my bell for my values ;)

I'm with Clegg on the scrappage of University fees.

How can we expect the future of this country to have a massive debt before they have even started earning a wage? How can we expect them to get on the housing ladder, with a large debt? How can we expect to improve our economy when our future generations have thousands of pounds worth of debt?

That's simple false. It would result in less people going because it wouldn't be affordable for the current numbers to, let alone more. That's simple economic theory.

From the Lib Dem website:

"Liberal Democrats are the only party which believes university education should be free and everyone who has the ability should be able to go to university and not be put off by the cost. "

American's cope pretty well with 10x our fees in some cases.

I didn't want to get dragged into the argument, the lib dems suggest less people should go to university and more should do vocational training, I believe he spoke about it today.

Thanks for the info,

That seems sensible, not sure about no tuition fees though as very few jobs need degree level education and those that do generally pay higher salaries so paying tuition fees to help maintain high standards at Universities is a good thing

Some people seem keen on voting for other parties just because they look good in a suit! When they havn't even read a word of the parties manifesto

Or, what the conservative party seem unable to grasp, they are still distrusted and widely disliked. That they're polling at 35ish % against the most unpopular prime minister in living memory should scare the living hell out of them but no, lets trot out the old favourites, marriage, immigration, tax cuts, one last push and we'll get back into power and it'll be fine. Surely there's something with a greater grip than that in the party?

Clegg the reason the poorer kids don't do aswell is due to the values the parents teach them. Giving the parents a couple hundred quid isn't going to make them suddenly learn to be better parents.
