How did you pay for your car?

Well the last 3 cars I have paid cash for, prior to that 3 of the 4 cars I had were financed. The 540i was an odd exchange really, as the dealer gave me £3,250 cash back :p ...and the car, I bet that never happens again.

Last time I financed I borrowed £18k ...that was quite an expensive way of doing it though really. If you want to buy a car to keep for a good while and you want it before you can afford to buy it outright, I'd recommend you look into a bank loan rather than dealer finance, you'll almost certainly get a better deal and you wont be tied to that car in anyway should you change your mind like you can be to a point (unless you want to lose a lot) with a finance deal.

Cash. But then the price I paid for my motor is about a weeks wage to most of you lot. :p
Done a thousand miles in the last ten days though & get better MPG than just about all of you.

It's All about the Torquez. :D

I've paid cash for all of mine. Not sure if I'd tackle a 10K+ purchase with cash though, if it ever happened. I'd have to come up with some way of getting the money from the bank without the idiots behind the counter being so damn obvious about handing over a large amount of cash.

I paid for mine 50% Cash 50% Finance, 4 months interest free, i kept 6k sat in my bank and gained a little more interest, 3months later i paid up the final fee that "Interest Free" wasnt the case, i had to pay an admin fee and then a final settlement fee.

If you can, buy outright.

Handing over all that money is butt clenching for me, i hate spending money.
