Mechwarrior 4 Free release - Now Available

For most people here too

Q: Does the game run on Vista/Windows 7?
A: Yes the game does run with Vista/Windows 7, both 32-bit and 64-bit flavors. You may need to install the game running as admin.
 
Ok Ive not played MW since 2 - i thought i actually played 4 - i don't even remember a 3...

This is a a full game version that's been nodded to be good? and released for free or do i need to dig up my MW4 cd from somewhere ungodly and not seen for 5+ years

All sounds good until you realise it's only free to push their god awful MTX distribution platform.

Shame... would have loved to have played it :(
 
Any information on the game itself for those who haven't played previous versions?

Also the meketk download manager sounds steam-like - is it always running?
 
Awesome, Mechwarrior one of my favorite game series. Shame they haven't done a free release of all the last Mechwarrior games. Hell, if they did a mechwarrior steam pack that included the mechcommander's i'd be on it in a second.
 
That's an understatement. The http download option doesn't work, and neither does the upload limit option for the torrent download. So if I run it, it completely floods my upload limit, stopping everything else, including its download.

I was looking forward to this as well :/
 
Yeah ive given up rofl, was gonna leave it on over night but meh.

will try again, it keeps locking up for me not responding.. bah sod it
 
See my post, two posts up. Its the torrent file that the dowloader uses. Load it into your torrent program of choice, then use the MTX program to unpack it.
