How fast has your car devalued since you've owned it.

My 2000 Alfa 146 1.6 TS works out to £1.09 per day, which is less than I expected it to be, I could totally see myself putting £32 a month into a savings account and not feeling the pinch because of it, maybe I should start.

Edit: Bonus points for negative depreciation.

edit:
"I would never buy a brand new car these days "

who said it had to be a new car...2nd hand ones depreciate too you know

My car is a 2002 Chrysler neon R/t.
I bought it for £2500 in may 2007.
It is worth in its current condition, according to various trade in offers I have received for it when I have looked at other cars recently, around £2000.
So its lost £500 at most for me, less If I sell it private, as it would probably fetch around £2200.

So whats that work out at? 27p per day?

Given that all the R36s currently on sale in the UK are all higher mileage, more poorly specified and more expensive than I paid for mine, do I win the negative depreciation prize?

42p a day on my old workhorse civic that i bought just over 4 years ago. However that includes cost of all the parts i've put on in that time, almost all simply wear and tear items.
That's why I kept it when I got a new "Main Car"

Only if you manage to sell it for more than you paid for it.

Well, that's the purpose of this thread and the definition of the OP as to calculating the value knackered then...

That seems massively optimistic Lucero?

I thought it was leased anyway so you didnt pay £29k and youve suffered zero depreciation?
