OP, sorry to hear about this - I can understand your reason for not reporting but it's certainly at least a Battery and depending on any minor cuts/bruises a s.47 ABH which is far from a trifling matter.

Nonsense... The same thing can happen in the middle of Glasgow at 3am on a Sat/Sun morning and all the people involved will be white.
If I was in the same position as the OP, it wouldnt deter me from going in.

It's been 6 pages on this thread and already your attention span is working against you. Read the original post again and pay close attention to the part where the black guy explicitly makes a remark regarding the OP skin colour.
This was about race, no amount of sugar coating or typing 3000 sentences 'explaining' things is going to change that fact.
Ask the police to deal with a racial assault on a white person so if they want to know.

The point that he's making is that this ignorant man was being racist, but it in itself isn't a race issue.
What that means is that he wasn't acting in such a way because of his skin colour, he as acting in that way because that's the type of person he is.
I know the same things happen in glasgow but i'd also use the same restraint if it was 30 white people.
No, they can be, it's just the white man would not necessarily care as much being called .... well... whatever derogatory terms exist for whites as much as blacks or asians would care for the terms that exist for them. By evidence one can conclude that skin colour is perhaps a more sensitive issue to ethics than it is to whites. Or am I wrong?

The police aren't the authority on what's racist and what's not.
To act as if "white" people are immune to racism implies that you believe "white" people to me the "normal" and everyone else to be the minorities.
In addition to that, there is very little criteria for what is deemed as racism.
It's generally along the lines of "some one is being abused, and the reason they've been targeted is because of the colour of their skin".
It's easy to talk when people have large numbers v.s. 1 person, guaranteed the 1 guy wouldn't have said a thing without his mates there.
I really will put it down to thugs just wanting trouble, over anything racial. The racist stuff in the OP was just something to talk down to him about, looking for something in hopes he would kick off so they get their fix, obviously the first part of trying to get attention (Calling him out on race) didn't work, so he needed to take further steps to provoke him, which still didn't work.
There's people around like this everywhere, and it's really sad to see what the country has become, starting on someone for no apparent reason other than just wanting to "look hard" in front of their mates.

Yes, because every single black man in that Chicken shop would have loved to get a pop at the white man and would have defended their fellow Brother in an instant without question. I mean why wouldn't we?
