***Official Halo Reach Beta Thread***

Had my first game, love it. But I cannot do these controls, melee as RB feels so wrong, changed to recon controls now so we'll see how that goes.
 
Few quick thoughts

LOVE the new grenades, make a nice concussive boom and seem to bounce better.

Love the one shot guns, the way the scope gets less accurate if you fire rapidly.

Don't like the Assault Rifle, seems a little underpowered.
 
Mines started downloading again and i'm at 88% thank god :)

I wish Microsoft would officialy support mouse and keyboard as i really struggle targeting with a joypad
 
Ahhh, download is going at a snails pace...

O well, didn't think it'd be fast anyway. After the whole Halo 3 beta it's going better so far! :p
 
Played 2 games before the server died , total time in menus about 1 hr , time in game 15mins! Go bungie- fail. ( you knew this was going to b big so provide the servers else do closed beta!)

map 1, team slayer with abilites on that multilevel indoor map - was very good , jet packs are great , controls not so much.

Map 2, team slayer with one gun only and sprint ability only on the outside map- rubbish game, horrid game mode - no skill aNd boring

so 50/50 so far, will try again later once it's calmer to see if I can get on.
 
Well I downloaded it earlier and played a few games, Plays like good old halo but takes a few games to get used to new controls :O. Also the motion blur seems a bit strong.
 
Now i seem to be stuck on "Playlist data pending download" :(

Would love to have at least 1 game before i get up for work at 6.30am!
 
right i have played eight games, won seven and been best player in most of those games, why am i not earning credits? my mate who im playing with is raking in credits and i haven't got any since my first game? anyone know...:(

strange... i'm guessing you are staying till the very end ? that sucks, can see no reason why it wouldn't give you them

Thats the whole point of a Beta, you are meant to report stuff like that to Bungie
 
Played a few games with my friends and now it's crippled again. Only played the objective games though, and flag grab is great fun, though focus rifle is probably my fav weapon so far. Plasma repeater is far to powerful compared to the AR though.

I wouldn't cry too much about it too be honest everything gets reset at end of beta anyway so your have to do it all again.
