Cars you dream off and cars you can realistically get?

"Realistic" (Well, Realistic enough. Hopefully I'll be able to treat myself to one once my apprenticeship is finished)

Toyota Supra 1988 Turbo A. Think of it as the RS500 Cosworth of old Toyotas. I'd want one with a complete nut and bolt restoration totally rebuilt with new technology. I say that it is a dream because I don't think I'd ever have the balls to spend £££,£££ on modifying an old undesirable Toyota.

Most people are some point in their life will be able to 'realistically' afford a supercar, even if it involves releasing equity from their house. The difference is that by that time their priorities have changed and the idea of spending £100,000 on a car and £10,000/year in maintenance seem like madness.

For me:

Realistic: Cayman, Boxster, Z4, maybe SLK (+ more slaves so I don't need practicality any more)

Dream: Ferrari 599
 
Realistic - Exige, M3, boxster or s2000 (second hand)

Dream - Porsche gt3 rs, Carrera GT

The realistic cars could be in less than a years time, but my brain tells me I need to sort out a mortgage first. Damn head :mad:

Is chopping your house in for a car realistic though? Certainly not an option most would entertain.

Why not ?

When your kids move out and you no longer need a 4-5 bedroom detached house you can afford to downsize and blow much of your profit on a Ferrari/Lambo/Porsche etc.
 
Realistic :
R34 Skyline GTR Vspec-II, preferably with some tasty mods to make it 400-500 bhp :).
Perhaps in 5 years or so.


Dream: Brabus rocket.

Realistic: Depends if I make my mind up, 350Z, Impreza STI, whatever else in that kind of price bracket I decide I'd like on any particular day :)

Dream: 911 Turbo of some sort, Ferrari 355 maybe.
