you dont have to work them out for yourself, have a look at shoryuken.com forums and have a look at your chars page. theres gaurenteed to be a combo sticky or beginner guide sticky.

my bnbs:

ken
hit confirms:
c.lk, c.lp, c.lp xx hp.shoryu
c.lk, c.lp, s.lp, c.mk xx ex tatsu

punish:
s.hk xx hk.tatsu/ex shoyru
c.mk xx hk.tatsu
 
I worked mine out for myself.

Rog:

Jump in no meter: jhk hk clk DP
Jump in with meter: jhk hk clk EXRU clp cmp HB

General no meter: clp clp cmp HB
General meter: clp clp cmp EXRU clp cmp HB

Jump in Ultra: jhk hk clk EXRU clp cmp HB Ultra
Jump in super: jhk hk clk DP Super

Can add Ultra to any combo with a HB at the end and all are BnB hit confirms. Situationally you can replace cmp for mk if you have enough charge for more damage.

Cheers guys - will dedicate some time tonight to learn at least one of those properly - not looking to 'cheat' just to unlock some of the passion I have for the game...

Just need some focus as otherwise Ill just end up doing the same poor play and just not progressing - Im easily distracted or frustrated when I just cant seem to click with this game. Enjoy playing it, but dno why Im not capable in attempting to 'master' it...

chun li

j.hp*2 c.hp m.sbk
c.lk*2 ex leg ultra ( you can land both ultra as soon as ex legs land, but the first ultra has to be close to the wall to do much damage)
(when opponent jumping) j.hp*2 ultra or ex legs (can ultra after that) or ex sbk
c.lp*2 c.mk super (if you have no meter use s.hp after any lp)

Just picked up SSF2HD. Is this game even playable with a pad? I can't pull the moves off with any consistency. Is a stick essential to manage the moves, or do I just need to practise? Because the half hour I tried wasn't terribly productive...

i could do most combos with a pad, but the moves are harder to do than sf4. i guess thats because they tried to recreate the hardcore ssf2 (with no shortcuts or anything to help input) in ssf2hd, hence it was aimed at hardcore sf players.

I'd guess its..
hold down back
up-back + K (hold up-back or back afterwards)
Focus
double tap forward
back
forward + PPP


I'll try it now ;)



Edit: woo did it finally after about 30 tries lol
Try doing focus - forward dash - ultra 2 first.
After that work on the full thing 1 step at a time.

ggs to e36 and raniac then, sorry i had to leave, have a few things to sort before bed. I can't help but feel i'm a really boring guy to fight, i'm pretty much a one trick (or rather combo) pony. I'm trying to learn though honest! At the moment i'm mostly trying to concentrate on defending against these new characters, i just can't see most of Dudleys moves coming, i also don't have a clue what's punishable, again Dudley in particular just seems to have no openings.

I only tried 10 times and got bored tbh :D

Yea I knew the focus dash forward U2 which I can do a piece of pee.
The motion you mentioned is exactly how I was doing it alas it was not pulling pff. It looks easier on paper than exection heh.

Also gotta love suckering people when I put my Guiles sunglasses on and they suddenly zoon forward to try and attack only to be greeted by a charged sonic/or flash kick :)

I just changed my ID, to something else, but can't remember the exact spelling and have the makings of a headache so can't be bothered to check right now. :(

I a bit crap at the moment, I didn't really play SF4, so waiting for a stick to be delivered then can get stuck in and learn some stuff. So I'll be a regular on the PS3 online crowd :)
