Work in the public sector but we have just cut upto £5m so if they cut anymore they wont be running any services, so dont feel worried.
So long public sector employees!
So long public sector employees!
Haha I love how you've all got so defensive, was only a passing joke. Golly times must be tense in the tea rooms at the moment![]()
I don't sit with the minions, there's some private contractors in those tea rooms these days, they'll be first out the door
Tea rooms? hell no, I get someone to bring mine to my office on a gold plated tray lined with Tunnocks tea cakes.I don't sit with the minions, there's some private contractors in those tea rooms these days, they'll be first out the door

The private sector isn't propped up by the public sector. In fact, the public sector is directly funded by the private sector. The only way that argument works if if you genuinely believe the public sector is more efficient and productive than the private sector.Who help prop up the private sector by buying services and goods. Without the public sector the government has a lot more unemployment benefit etc to pay out, whilst losing out on taxes received from those workers previously.
Going to have to be huge swinging cuts across the board in the next 5 years if they're going to get the budget back under control.
Without the public sector the government has a lot more unemployment benefit etc to pay out, whilst losing out on taxes received from those workers previously.
Do you have any figures to substantiate that claim?Ironic given that the main reason for the mess is all the money given to private banks.
The Government is actually sitting on a profit on the bank bailout now. The main reason for the mess is the Labour Governments inability to balance the books during the entire 00s, despite us being in boom times.Ironic given that the main reason for the mess is all the money given to private banks.

That really doesn't make any sense. How could the government miss the 30% or so taxes the public sector worker pays when 100% of their wages come out of taxation?
Where do you come by 30%? What about other taxes we pay the same as private sector workers or do you know some way that I can avoid paying tax on petrol etc?
