Planes - best place to sit?

People are actually thinking if it in terms of safety? If it crashes, to a point where the choice of seat is likely to affect your chances of survival you're probably buggered anyway, and the difference is only a few percentage points.

Sit near the front, in front of the wings, so your kids can look out, and in front of the engines, so that you're slightly less deaf by the end. There's a handy toilet near too.

Don't sit by an emergancy exit if you have kids.

For comfort, sit behind the emergency airlocks for extra leg room (although sometimes these are reserved for the disabled). For safety, you're statistically more likely to survive a planecrash by sitting in the tail.
