Mountain Dew

Got a bottle for £1 at my nearest BP garage, its really nice, its similar to Sprite but is a bit more syrupy on the back of your tongue.

Do you know are can you find out if it is going to be a Nationwide thing?

Are just in certain Sainsburys stores? Hoping it will appear in the one in Belfast :D

I believe that most of the Sainsburys stores should be getting it, although I can't give you a 100% garantee on the Belfast store stocking it until Thursday when I'm back at work again.
I do know that I'm making a mini display of this stuff on Thursday to intice the students to try it. :p

Including smaller town centre stores? Have one right opposite uni and this would suit exam time perfectly!

Is relaunched in the UK today!

This probably doesn't merit a thread but I have a need to procrastinate, and I know a fair few folk on here will be fans of the stuff. It's going to have more caffeine than the original version and be marketed as an energy drink as opposed to a soft drink.

I love this stuff.

First thing I ever do when I reach America is buy a bottle and then guzzle it down in seconds, before buying another bottle and actually enjoying that one :D

I never understood why EU didn't use corn syrup

Because its one of the least healthy things to come out of America in ages. Its a really awful quality sugar made as a by product of the farming industry.

People will replace normal sugar with corn syrup in recipes for cakes and things in the states to increase the shelf life of things, its like a preservative, some evil chemical nastiness.

I hate people that jump on every latest internet fad about whats healthy and not. I'm aware sweeteners aren't the best substances on earth but don't buy into the "it gave me cancer after having 1/4 of a can of diet coke" rubbish people get into. Sure some people are allergic to it, as some people are allergic to almost anything in the world, so some people react badly to it, does that make nuts unhealthy, no.

But Corn Syrup really is one of the worst substances that makes it into a massive number of foods, and its one of the main things directly responsible for the massive increases in obesity and diabetes in the states.

You DO NOT want to be drinking anything at all with any corn syrup in, let alone loads of the stuff.

Personally I think it tastes like crap aswell, it tastes like a cheap and poor quality substitute for real sugar.

Then again I think all full sugar soft drinks are horrific for you simply from the calorie per can pile of poo that they are.

Woops.....

Just cleared out the local sainsburys :D

they have it in Brislington Sainsburys

no shelf label yet they told me so its not on the shelves i found some in a chiller cabinet asked for more so they went out the back and got some for me :D

taste pretty much the same as the US stuff methinks except slightly more fizzy.

it is also Heresy to drink it any other way than ice cold ! so dont try it till its ice cold.

I bought a bottle in Sainsbury's today, in Beeston, Nottingham. It's very good! I haven't tasted the US Mountain Dew yet, so I can't compare them.

You speak the truth. I agree totally. :)
Think i prefer the American version, but maybe that is just because of the effort to get it? :p
