A recharge time would be un-intuitive, its annoying waiting for the Mortar Strike to recharge because its just not clear. But it would still be annoying in cases where Medics just stroll over dead players and get them up without even breaking stride. Even if it only takes 3 seconds to 'use' the defib it would at least take some thought.

And the respawn protection needs removing completely.

Yeah, fair point I guess.

That said, there's so many dodgy things around the medic revive and the medic in general that I'm not sure you could really 'fix' it without breaking quite a lot of the gameplay mechanics. It's very very far from perfect but the game does work pretty well on the whole to create a very different style of game to the usual stuff I/we play.

medics reviving you in line of fire is the biggest bs i hate about this game . apart from that i can just about bare all the gustav users and noobtubers :p

There was a horrible medic on my team earlier, impossible to get him to drop a health pack but he was always around to defib when surrounded by enemies or out of ammo

It's infuriating now :(

Literally unloaded a whole clip into someone (with the damage indicators going crazy) - they turn around and with a couple of shots I'm dead.

:(

Bah... dodgy hit reg is when you see blood but no damage indicator... If the damage indicator is there, the server knows you've hit them.

Is anyone else finding that the snowy conquest map is particularly bad for hit reg??? I can't think of a logical reason why it would be but I always seem to 'miss' people more on that map... Even when they are standing still

It's on the Bad Company 2 EA Forums:
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/499371.page

Basically you just add the following two lines to settings.ini and gamesettings.ini

SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.0450000
SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 45

Because BC2 tries to compensate for lag by moving the hitboxes for your opposition around and currently the games method of identifying your ping is rubbish (My scoreboard says 150ms on multiplay.co.uk servers - when it clearly isn't) that's why people have such a hard time killing people.

The above forces the game to think you have a 45ms ping (I set mine to 40) and hence the hitboxes are no longer in gay places. Since adding this to my ini files I've noticed a HUGE jump in my hit reg.

Try this.

Nice but its not coming to PC! At least not soon

This is because they would have to make a 32 man server 4 man only to play this mode,

This isnt a problem on consoles because they dont use dedis,
For this on the PC we would need a separate P2P MW2 style setup just for this mode

"The question of "What about PC?" is coming up in the comments quite a lot already so this is what the situation is.

No, we haven't signed away rights to console on this.
The problem we have on PC is that all our servers are dedicated with providers. Changing a server from Conquest 32 players to Onslaught 4 players cuts out 28 player slots from the total ammount available. This could have a dramatic affect on the PC online environment if enough servers changed to Onslaught.

We aren't ruling out Onslaught on PC but at this time we are researching how to bring it to PC without affecting players who don't have Onslaught or their own server to run it on. "

Has anybody got trouble with their friends list?

I mate of mine cannot add me and vice versa. We just noticed we have exactly 20 friends in our lists. Is there a limit?

When you play in DX9 mode you can't have any more AA than 1X in the game options, but is it possible to force more in an .INI somehow? Or is it just the limitation of DX9?

Cheers

On an unrelated note I am now getting terrible terrain flickering. :/

I cant stand using sniper rifles, I've become too used to CQB with shotties that I find it REALLY boring to sit behind a rock somewhere and fire a few rounds off , plus I get too annoyed with rubbish snipers not helping the team out that I don't want to be one of them

Throw a red dot on either the m24 and m95 for a one shot killing machine with mag ammo. Just keep the enemy at around 15 meters away its a much better way of using the sniper class, bringing those motion sensors into play for your team. Take a decent pistol and if you miss you still have some kinda chance of defending yourself.

The Type?? semi auto sniper and the vss with red dots are very capable at short to medium range also and change your gaming style a little.

Use an ACOG for some great medium range play covering your advancing squad as they push on a flag calling in mortar strikes on blinkered enemys, all trying to chase Kearney.

12x scopes are for girls.
