Just finished my 1st year at the west of scotland uni doing Mechanical Engineering.

West of Scotland HA!, fancy title i guess telling people its in paisley would turn them away :p

I'm off to do History at the University of Kent.

Looked really promising at the open day, and I've heard good things about it, so I'm looking forward to it! :)

Royal Holloway hopefully, to do a Masters, anyone else going there? Seems a tiny university so probably not. :p

At the moment I want to go there, but I'm not going anywhere until next year so I'll see. I want to do computer science (BSc) and they look pretty good for that.

Just about to finish my last year of MEng Chemical Engineering here at the University of Sheffield (grey and dank? The Mappin building is beautiful!) and applied to carry on to a postgraduate Biochemical Engineering position. Going to carry on if I get awarded the scholarship, which is a pretty hefty package here!

Advice to new students - start saving some money now, seriously, be as tight as you can possibly be until september, if you're going for a fairly intensive course, or want to really really pull your weight, there is not a lot of tim to work and earn during term time. If you're goign to uni @ 18, you might not notice the squeeze, but if you have been working, or been out of education for a stratch of time it might be hard to adjust. myself and a number of friends have noticed this, and just wish they didnt waste so much money prior to september!

Absolutely agree with this, learning how to manage your money is very important. At least it will when you look at your bank balance after the rent has been taken out.

I am finishing my second year of Television Production at Bournemouth Uni, had a reasonable year but the cost cutting is showing (if it didn't have the industry reputation I would be applying for a transfer to the AUCB for Film Production.) Still, had lots of fun this year and have been working in a kitchen for the last month which has been great fun, and have half of the needed work placement to pass this year at a great company with fantastic people!

SALFORDDD

In this lovely building a lot of the time

Geography/Environmental Geography next year. Just done a year on Environmental Sciences, loving it so far.

Good course D:

Yeah, it seems that way. My original intention was to study Biomedical Science but after attending a presentation about Environmental Science I was converted. It seems like a good course and apparently Plymouth is the number one university in the UK and possibly Europe to study it.

It's going to be fun when I come to pick where to do my masters. :D

Wow, not even anything other than a strong desire, but I'm excited about going back to university again one day!

Don't hate the player, hate the game ;).

TBH, everyone on the team is really nice... there really aren't any utter knobs... we're not the rugby team ;D.

Edit :: PS. Brunel has a team...

I'm sure they're fine, just look like **** for wearing their kits away from training/games. Try hards in other words.

I knew a few of the guys when I was there. Some were sound as a pound, but quite a few were plebs. Wouldn't say they were as bad as the soccer or rugby lot though!

Doing Chemistry with a year in industry (MCHEM) at Manchester University, hopefully staying in fallowfield. Close enough to home but far enough to enjoy the uni life hopefully. IMO its a brill uni, with a good rep, good course, should get something good out of it. Leading to a phd there maybe if i have such desires.

I'll more than likely be going for my MMath next year...Strathclyde again. Might use it as a step to a Phd depending on how the funding situation is for maths this time next year, time will tell. Still might decide to cut and run with a BSc in June.

26 and after never really being in to the education game at 17 and quitting college I have an offer for Comp Sci with a Foundation yr at Durham uni.......just started a decent job though and really torn between what to do.
I think I'd find the course interesting and love the experience but worried about being skint for four years and then still having to find a job afterwards....some tough decisions to make over the next month or so!
