Been offered 2 Ati 3870x2's for £60 from a friend, just wondering if these are still good for games?

I play on a 22" monitor with a res of 1680 x 1050 and hope to add all the AA etc

Have a Core i7 920 @ 3.6 and 6GB of DDR3Ram and an X58 mobo

Just wondering if anyone has tried it?

havent tried it, but would imagine coupled with an i7 they are not going to be slow. be interested to see what you could get out of em!

£60 seems rather good price too.

Ye im going to do it i think :) Atm i have a Ati x1300XT pro 512 which isnt really struggling with games i just thought id do a little experimenting :)

get some results up when you have em in :)

the 1GB versions are supposedly loads better than the 512mb, so worth it i think

If he's a mate won't he let you try before you buy so you can see how good they are. Just make sure you have a decent enough power supply.

i would do this as well.

if there still bad then flog them on the bay or something,im sure you will get your money back and even more if there are 2 of them.

Thanks for that :)

Before i sold my old cards, i was using 2 x 4850 512's in CF, any idea what these will be like compared?

I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised with the frames two of those till push out. Do post your results and findings? :) Defo worth it for sixty notes!
