PSP was launched over six years ago and so far has remained free from any major changes to its model. Next month could change all that ?
higher res would be nice
Don't think so.
What more could they do to it? The graphics are already good enough for a hand held. They just need better software.
and no, it doesn't need a second analogue stick.
According to , a smattering of UK sources have confirmed that the PSP 2 is already in the UK with a forest’s worth of non-disclosure agreements handed out to publishers and developers.
The PSP2 is rumoured to be packing two cameras – one front-facing and one backward facing – which would support the idea that Sony is gunning for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s also claimed to be packing a touchscreen but has also kept the physical PlayStation buttons which should please hardcore gamers.
The legends over at VG247.com have uncovered something rather secret, Sony’s PSP 2.
They have basically gone through all of the rumours so far, added them up, spoke to some other sources and came up with what Sony don’t want you to know.
So far we know that the PSP2 has two cameras, one forward and one backward facing, it has a touch-screen, but also retains its standard buttons. We also understand that it could be 3G enabled, and that it is “******* powerful” as it is based on a four-core cell CPU.
Sounds great eh?
VG247 are reporting the device will be released in 2011, with a reveal probably coming at Gamescom.
If they could get a second analogue stick and get it backwards compatible with the PS2 catalogue then they might have something there, I know I would likely buy it if it means playing a lot of old PS2 games on it.
four-core cell CPU
If it has a umd drive the battery life in the psp2 will be measured in minutes not hours.
the power of the device doesn't really matter not many dev took full advantage of the psp's power because a lot of people arnt willing to give portable games the dev budget they need.
Not true, God of War on PSP pushed it,
They should just stick with what they have...
Please don't force all portable games to have cruddy touchscreen controls. Please.![]()
