Any Car Body Experts Here ???

Chassis damage looks nasty. Whole new suspension/brakes/wheel and bumpers/wing looks costly, especially on a BMW. Unlucky.

just get a hammer and do it yourself

seriously though, thats at least 2-3 k

are you looking at the cost of repair including labour? or just the parts?

That's an insurance right off. You'll never see it again.

If the cost of repairs including genuine parts is more than 50 to 60% of car value, then it's written off.

What's a 2004 compact worth? £5k?

Unlucky.

Well the coppers reckoned a couple of grand to get it fixed but then they obviously are not experts. Engine seemed ok so it would be body work and wheel , other side is fine incidently.

it's not just body work and wheel though mate, the suspension that the wheel connects on to will be goosed too, I'm with Greebo on this one..

... and suspension and brakes and engine auxhilliaries and chassis...

Pretty sure that'll be a write off.

Darn not what i wanted to hear. Can I ask if say the insurance company said that repairs would cost £2500 which would = write off , could i offer the insurance company to pay £500 towards the repairs myself so that it could be fixed and would they accept that ?

Never had a crash before so excuse my noobness.

I don't think you can.

But you can let them write it off, buy it back off them then repair it with the left over money + your £500
