Dirt 2 benchmark?

Yes Raven.

Obviously if I overclock it (done 850/1150) i will gain more frames, but were only looking at about 2 or 3

I had to go in and edit the registry and change all instances of EnableULPS from 1 to 0. I no longer get ULPS active and crossfire works, I run it with the logo so I know it's working. I have increased frame rates in Crysis from 20fps to about 35-40; however, it seems a bit more jerky with crossfire enabled. You might give it a try. you can alway just change them back if it doesn't work for you.

So to change them type "regedit" in the search box from the start menu and hit enter. That should open up the registry editor. Highlight computer and then hit Ctrl + f this will open a search window. Then search enableulps. Once you find it modify the number from 1 to 0. do another search and repeat untill all instances of enableulps are changed from 1 to 0. Reboot and see if that works.

Worth a try?

i got a striker extreme and had many probs with the nvidia chipset.went from 8800gtx to a 5870 and it performs the same as yours in dirt2.when i get some money i am going to get new mobo and it wont be an asus pile of turd.ok its the nforce chipset but they cant be arsed to get the problem sorted.so i say stuff nvidia and asus.

Yes, i think thats it Andy.

however ,i'm looking at the regedit, and there are lots of ULPS settings to adjust, but just got to one, and DIRECTLY above one of them is "EnableCrossFireAutoLink" 0x0000000 (1) does that mean anything?

Thanks all, but stiil the same (i rebooted asfter regedit). So looks like Nvidia/Chipset then? Oh well, nevermind, oh sugar-me, dear-dear (not my actual wordings:eek:)

Will try soem other games now.

However I can say BFbc2 runs like butter, so too Mw2, (80+ ingame frames or so) so it's not like its "uniform to the total game situation"

Thanks;)

EDIT: just wondering if re-installing the game may get me better results from the above advice in Regedit, as the ingame hardware settings may still be using the "ULPS setting" in the CFG file no?

Ant:(

hmm, in BFbc2 i hold 120fps with vsync on 95%+ of the time, drops into the upper 90's sometimes, with vsync off it shows ~140-150+ quite often so maybe u should be getting more from that game also....

My rig not too dissimilar to yours same cpu and a 5970 is the same as mine just in one card. I ran the test 8xMSAA and everything set to ultra and got 86 minimum fps and 104 average... give you something to compare it too and an indication of what you should be getting

ur 5870's > his 5970

Might be worth checking the gpu useage on both cores.

To do so, open gpuz, click the sensors tab and tick "continue to refresh screen while gpuz is in the backround"

Now, leave gpuz open and run the benchmark. By rights both cores should be loaded up to 85%.
