You do sound 17 I have to say.

I have in no way been brainwashed by the media as you suggest.

I have been there as a younger person with regards to racist and homophobic comments that I have made which tended to be as a crowd follower.

Now I am 35, have life experience and have worked and socialised with gay people and concluded some years ago that it has no detrimental effect on my life and that these ' not normal ' people are in fact quite normal and decent folk who mostly want to live their life the way they choose to live it with the minimum of spotlight.

I have my opinions based on real life experience but I confidently surmise that yours are not. Who is truly brainwashed here ?

And thanks for ignoring my enquiry about defining 'wrong.' Or maybe you did, 'disgusting' , but that's again your opinion, so pretty irrelevant.

Think about it logically? Okay, two male species have a sexual attraction to one another due to activity in their brain - it happens in the animal kingdom nevermind among Human beings.

If you are an atheist aswell, then you probably/if not-must believe wholeheartedly in science no? Which is interesting again.. considering scientists view on homosexuality.
 
You have to respect other countries laws and cultures though. There are loads of countries where gay sex is not allowed, just as there are lots of countries with a legal age of consent younger than ours which may make people uncomfortable.

When looking at the table though, i had a wee chuckle when the youngest age of consent in the world is the vatican state, at 12, no surprise there!

Fifty years ago the idea of saying "I'm gay" was unheard of because it was illegal. People like Alan Turing, a person who contributed significantly to cracking German communications codes in WW2 and partly laid the foundations of computer science, were driven to suicide by the punishment he received because of his sexuality.

Homosexuality has been practised by human civilization for thousands of years. In Ancient Greece, for example, it was quite common.

The fact of the matter is that relationships between men and men, and women and women, have been around for longer than discrimination against them. Discrimination is man-made and based on fear and irrational loathing.

I respect the point you are trying to make, but there is a difference between an evidenced-based or social decision to say that people of a certain age are probably not mature or aware enough to have sexual relations, compared to banning them outright. However uncomfortable I may be with the age of consent being 13 in South Korea, it pales in comparison with the death penalty for homosexuality in Nigeria.

One is restricting freedom or potentially increases the opportunities for abuse, the other legalises a homosexual holocaust.

Prejudice and persecution stops at nothing Kethridge. If you allow it continue, it's only be a matter of time before you're on the wrong side of the fence.
 
I think the whole think is wrong to be honest - people should be allowed to live as they want under the provision that what they do does not hurt anyone else.

Strange thing was the Judge called their acts "Un-Malawian" but the laws they "broke" where introduced whilst under British rule.

UK gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell pointed out that the laws under which the pair were convicted were introduced during British colonial rule.
"These laws are a foreign imposition. They are not African," he said.
