I used Sidi Vertebra and Vertebra II's for years. Great boots but they do indeed squeek and let the rain in.
Now using Alpinestar SuperTech boots, the ones with the removable inner boot. Most comfortable boots I've used on the bike although at first they seem a little more bulky than the Sidi's were. You soon get used to it though. Awesome boots, feel more protective than the Sidi's were, my next pair will be SuperTechs again.
I don't mind the fact they let rain in, my current boots will see me though as they're all year round Sidi's, just want a more race style pair as I want to get a few track days done this year, and as I'm getting more aggressive in my style, want something that'll hold up better at high speeds lol.
As for the squeak, I've already accepted that they'll squeak after being out the other day in Poole, sounded like loads of mice everywhere hah.
Can't say I'm a fan of those Alpinestar boots astheicly, but I'll have a look at them in the flesh tomorrow or Saturday, see how they feel etc. Cheers for the recommendation
