Ouch!!!. What happened?.

do the v8 v12 offer anything at all over the wellgo copies ? they always seemed a rip off to me. even 10 years ago

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Wellgo's and the DMR's are made by the same manufacturer / in the same factory or something?. I might be wrong on that but it sticks in my mind from somewhere.

So, having returned my new Boardman roadbike three times in less than a month, i finally got fed up and got a refund.

So now i need a new roadbike, what could i get that has a good spec for about £800'ish,

I've seen this which i really like the look of, but it pushes my budget a bit.

can i get a better spec for the money, or is this a good buy.

Surely you'd want better than Shimano 105 for close to 900 quid?

105 and it's SRAM Rival or Campy equivalent is pretty much the norm for @£900. At that price you would be looking at 105 or Tiagra as far as Shimano groupsets go. There are of course, some really good deals on older 2009 / early 2010 models to be had if you shop around which will push you up to Ultegra levels.

Sgt_Pepper - Have you looked at Ribble bikes?. You could probably use their online bike builder to get a Ribble Sportive for approx £1k.

Out of interest, what did you return the boardman for (what were the problems)?

Personally at your budget I'd be looking at the Trek 1.5 at £750. Its the best bike around for that kind of cash and the upgrade in spec on the bikes at 800-950 isnt really worth the extra cash imo, you'd need to be spending over 1k to take the next step up.

Did have a look on Ribble, Suppose I could hold on for a few more weeks and save the extra up, the Sportive and GranFondo look nice. I also liked the much cheaper 7005SL alloy frame, but they don't do it in a white 54 :)

Had some problems with the rear derailleur and then i got it back with a buckled wheel:(
