UFC Undisputed 2010 DEMO (PS3/360)

IGN have done a Knockouts Montage.

To be honest, the only thing that looks a little rough in that video is the way the fighter falls/lands after getting knocked the F out.

I've never been huge on ragdoll physics, but maybe this is a place where it would work?

All the fighters seem to fall the same way. In 2009 there was a little variation in the way they'd fall - you'd see knees buckling slightly at times... but that looks exactly the same as we're going to see in 2010.

Sure it's not a game breaker, but when the majority of this years title is pretty much nailed in terms of look and feel for a MMA title... it seems a little let down by one of the last things you'll see in a fight.

edit:
Also from playing the demo quite a bit, this years title (like 2010...) still suffers from the "Ghost Knockout" problem. Where you can seemingly nail an absolute barn burner of a head kick, uppercut or hook... knock out your opponent and on the replay, you realise that you actually missed him... not clipped him, or hit a glancing blow but missed him entirely and knocked him out.

It's something that the Fight Night series from EA suffered from, and still does even with FN:R4. The presentation and feel of the game is superb, but is let down by silly little things like this.

I was a big fan of UFC 09... and this one is awesome! They have just changed slights things, but has turned out awesomely. Little things like the blocking I like. It used to be just one general block, as in hands up... but now he switches hands dependant on what side he gets punched from. Brilliant game and will be getting for sure!

Well you know what wind does to guys with weak chins :p

ive never played UFC09 but decided to pick this up and i must say i am impressed, although i think other then a career mode does the full game add much to the demo?

i mean its good but it does seem like it could get very repetitive very quickly (same thing that put me off getting the Fight Night games even though i was really impressed by the demo)

wow!! what the hell? All those knockout animations looked the same. 2009 had dynamic knockouts.

Strange.

also, anyone notices mouth guards don't come flying out anymore? I thought that was really cool in 2009.

I'm guessing the guy who did that UFC 2009 montage dislikes Brock Lesnar!!

I can see what you mean about the difference in knockdowns, it does look like they've canned a load of the knockout animations, which seems really strange. It could be that the guy they were using in the video got knockouts almost exclusively from hooks so I'm hoping uppercuts and flying knees etc get different knockout animations. Still, I thought the demo was really good and I definitely plan on buying the game when it comes out later this month :)

mouth guards seem to fly out when you get knock outs on ps3 demo for me, can hit some amazing head kicks and mouth gaurd flys onto the floor.

Doesn't happen as often, but it happens. I guess it's the realism thing, I never seen a mouthguard fly out from a ko punch/kick in the UFC.

Thread bump based on the first reviews starting to appear for this game. Gamepro just gave it 5 stars, am sure the IGN review will be up fairly soon too. Also, I don't know if this was the case in Undisputed 2009 but in the demo of 2010 if you focus on one particular side of the head it can be ridiculously easy to knock someone out even on the highest difficulty setting. Just land some big punches and kicks to one side of the head and keep on pummelling it and eventually they get knocked out.

 that is generally what happens in a fight..

Loved the first one, one of my most played xbox games I think. I really liked the demo although kept winning most of my fights even on the hardest settings. Found the ground defence a lot harder and found I had either forgotten most of the ground things/wrestling slams. I remember I used to grind out peoples stamina by slamming them, landing a few body shots, jumping in guard, slamming and what not. Then let them up and KTFO.

I'm gonna wait and see what the career mode is like before deciding whether to buy this.

I liked the fighting in the first one but the presentation of the career mode and all the sponsorship rubbish that you had to do put me off of it pretty quickly.

The whole thing was just...clunky.

I played the demo. First thing I ever downloaded on my PS3 in fact. Absolutely loved it so I pre ordered the special edition for the same price as regular. The extra fights in BluRay would cost £20 alone so it is an excellent deal. Need to learn how to fight though, I just kept kicking and punching, made a takedown once but it didn't work when I tried it again.
