UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans

Main card
Light Heavyweight bout: Quinton Jackson vs. Rashad Evans

In an ideal world this would end with a career ending double knockout and we'd never have to see either of these two again. I never liked Rampage back in PRIDE, I like him less now, I think he is so overrated. Rashad is another blanket coming out of the Jackson camp, don't like him. Actually couldnt care less who takes this main event as I doubt I'll bother to watch it, I expect a snooze fest anyway.

On the plus side, the winner gets Shogun, and gets destroyed by him.

Middleweight bout: Michael Bisping vs. Dan Miller

I think Miller may take this, I think people have found Bisping out somewhat.

Heavyweight bout: Todd Duffee vs. Mike Russow

Todd Duffee on the main card already, seriously? Because he knocked out Tim Hague in 7 seconds? I don't really know enough about Duffee to give a credible opinion on this one, so I'm guessing Duffee but I have no real idea.

Light Heavyweight bout: Antônio Rogério Nogueira vs. Jason Brilz

Its a shame that Forrest got himself injured, as it would have been an intruiging bout. Brilz is a step down for Lil Nog, if his boxing is as sharp as it was vs Luis Cane I dont see any chance of an upset on the cards.

Welterweight bout: Diego Sanchez vs. John Hathaway

Good to see Diego back after the mauling that Penn gave him, don't know how much that will have taken out of him. I'd expect Sanchez to find himself back on track after a late stoppage, pushing the pace like only he can till the other guy drops.

Pre-Lims
Welterweight bout: Amir Sadollah vs. Dong Hyun Kim

I'm a big fan of Amir Sadollah since I saw the reality show, and I must admit his Muay Thai has come on a hell of a lot, Dong Hyun Kim only just scraped a decision vs Matt Brown and I think Amir is a step above Brown, so Amir by decision.

Lightweight bout: Efrain Escudero vs. Dan Lauzon

Rumours of trouble in the Lauzon camp, with even his brother walking away from training with him. I expect Efrain to pick up a win here.

Lightweight bout: Melvin Guillard vs. Waylon Lowe

Should be Guillard all day long.

Light Heavyweight bout: Luiz Arthur Cane vs. Cyrille Diabaté

Cane this far down on the card already? Just because of the loss to Lil Nog? I reckon this could be one hell of a fight, two fantastic strikers, both are going to fancy it on the feet, Cane has more MMA experience, Cyrille is the more technical striker, I'll go with Cane, but I pick this for fight of the night.

Lightweight bout: Aaron Riley vs. Joe Brammer

Riley is a damn solid fighter, I don't know enough about Brammer but I doubt hes in Riley's league if hes not been heard of by now. Riley by decision.

Middleweight bout: Jesse Forbes vs. Ryan Jensen

Jesse Forbes is the dude who won TUF and then got drunk and decided to smash windows and such? If its him I'll pick him to take it via LnP decision, using his wrestling base to domniate the fight.

Wrong dude. You are thinking of Jesse Taylor.

Jesse Forbes was on the show but a different season (was in Season 3, the same one as Bisping) he was the young crazy kid in the house. (very pale white) that got beat by Haynes in the semi finals (and lost to the dude that walked out during the show, can't remember who that was)

Anyone know of anywhere in London that will be playing UFC 114? I'm in London that night and looking to watch it live in a sports bar or something but dont know the area. Gala Casino's normally show it but apparently the older builds in London don't have those facilities.

Definitely looking forward to the PPV. Really not sure who to go for in the two main events, I want Rampage and Bisping but it really could go the other way.

Some people are saying that Evans is on a roll, but is he? He got absolutely outclassed by Machida and then, when trying to show off almost got knocked out by Thiago Silva who didn't fight a good fight. Rampage is a much more legit fighter than Silva, bags of experience and has phenomenal knockout power. Evans is a more tactical fighter, more evasive and will try to get it down to the ground. I can see Evans frustrating Rampage and making a boring fight. See Koscheck vs Daley.

As for the Bisping fight, I'm hoping for a Bisping win but Miller is very good. People are being a little harsh on Bisping, he came very close with Evans, he got knocked out against Henderson (and looked very gaunt coming into the ring) in devastating fashion through his own stupidity and how he lost against Wanderlei I'll never know, he was by far the better fighter and Silva's 30 second spurt at the end of the third swung the judges, but Bisping definitely won that fight.

I'm expecting Nogueira and Sanchez to return to their very best, the latter especially will want to put on a big show after being completely outclassed against Penn in a fight he should have done better in (total lack of aggression and no signs of those lethal knee's which was both surprising and disappointing.)

The rest of the card is a bit of a mixed bag, but I'm looking forward to Efrain Escudero vs Dan Lauzon, it's actually pretty surprising to see it on the prelims. I'd like to see Lauzon take it, but I'm going for an Escudero victory in this.

The hype and hatred in the main event has been great, thoroughly enjoyable and it's always good to see two fighters who genuinely dislike each other go at it, but it's kind of overshadowed the rest of the fights, which is definitely a shame.

Diego Sanchez vs. John Hathaway

It was a joke because the guy said Steve Carwin rather than Shane, so Rusty_Noob was being sarcastic! :)

Sorry it was 01:44 when I posted so my brain was not fully engaged.

Bare in mind that this is Little Nog, not Big Nog, and his last performance was a sensational knockout against a previously undefeated Luis Cane, I doubt he can get much closer to his best!

Evans and miller will win, the rest of the main card I'll go for those on the left.

As for Carwin v lesnar, that is going to be awesome.
One of them is going to get hurt because they both hit hard!

i think everyone does! his hands are HUGE!
if brock can stay away from some of those punches then carwin might gas as hes not been tested over distance. especially with some big slams

Not a huge fan Cane, he got a strong win over Sokoudjou (albeit someone Noguiera lost against IIRC) and scored a DQ loss for kneeing a downed Sandman. I am expecting much bigger things to come from Nogueira in the UFC than a victory over Cane, after all this is a guy who beat both Overeem (none hulkified) and Henderson. I realise I worded it poorly and should have mentioned in a separate sentence. I meant to say I'm expecting Nogueira to be at, and Sanchez to return to, their very best.

Just a case of wanting to write too many things too quickly and being lazy.

Carwins hands are massive, but i think brocks are bigger isnt his gloves xxxl or something silly like that?

Anyhow june soon, and soon it will be end of july:)
