Friends car clamped and tow

O_o

What on earth was their reasoning behind this??!?

Also, didn't something like this come up a week or so ago? I could've sworn there was an earlier thread posted by someone else with similar circumstances? Can't find it by searching now though.

Little update.......it's been crushed.

Within a week, by a private parking firm? Sorry, not buying that. There HAS to be more to it than this, at the very least it will have had council involvement and ignoring the internet hearsay the hoops they need to jump through before they actually can crush a car are far and wide.

Was it actually insured?

What car was it?

Sounds more like the car was illegal in some way and the old bill have asked for it to be removed.

id vote for it having no tax and having been removed on behalf of the DVLA by the sounds of it.

Would explain why it was clamped despite the sign saying it was ok to park after 6pm. He wasnt clamped for parking there obviously, he was clamped for something else...

right well there's not much about them and the only link to "midway parks + car crushing" is to here.

As I said they can't crush a car. It's not their property...

So your friend told them to crush the car rather than paying however much they wanted to release it?

lolwut.

just spoke to him and They said if its left there it will be scraped and as he can't afford the increasing the rate they want to get it out so he has assumed it has been scraped sorry as they know he can't pay to get it back (altho even if he could i think the fee is probably worth more then car is)
