24 is gone (soon)
BSG is gone
The Unit is gone
Stargate is gone (proper SG, not this lost in space lark)
Firefly is gone (Meridian, shut up :p)
The Wire is gone
BoB is gone
Lost is gone
Heroes is gone
Flash Forward is gone
Law & Order is ... gone (that's like saying, i dunno, something that could never happen, has happened!)

The CSI franchises have pretty much fallen to bits with CSI:Miami excelling itself recently with one of the characters talking to a ghost ... CSI:NY has a main character falling from a height that would splat any mere mortal, then getting a couple weeks off work to get better. At least original CSI gets a good serial killer.
NCIS, still good mindless police procedural fodder, unlike the NCIS:LA abortion that i survived for nearly 2 episodes before losing the will to live.
Chuck has lost it's fizz now that he's a "proper" spy AND gets the girl.
V is ticking over nicely, story seems to have done lots but it just doesn't grab me.

Season ended
House
Castle

Waiting for ...

Sons of Anarchy S3 (September 2010)
Burn Notice S4 (June 2010)
Dexter S5 (September 2010)
Spartacus T&A S2 (but i guess we should let the guy get better first)
True Blood S3

Is there anything "new" on the way that's i've missed the weeks of advertising for?

disclaimer. show start dates are taken from wiki, feel free to add on a year for them to send the master copies over by one armed canoeist).

Stargate Universe has actually improved believe it or not. If you haven't seen any of the second half of season 1 then give it a look.

Next big thing for me will be "A Game of Thrones" based on the George RR Martin series "A Song of Ice and Fire".

Dexter is back in Sept.

I have a m8 who is "into" america style TV... I've Facebooked him... will let you guys know what he recons is decent :)

Sons of Anarchy is keeping me going atm - I hope they keep this alive, fresh and interesting as the level of characterization seperates it from the herd. Would be great to see a few episodes showing a bit more background on people like Chief Unser and what motivated him to take the stance he has.

op updated

Had forgotten about Dexter somehow. Bloody weird as we named our dog after him :D ("oh, the little boy with the sister with the funny legs?", "erm, no ....." ;))

is V any good? it got some hype on here but i missed the first epp so havent watched any of them

V is so so, kinda interesting but at the same time a lot of stuff just isn't new/that interesting. After the first couple of episodes I stopped really caring if I saw the next episode or not.

Theres that Terra Nova series coming out by Spielberg. Looks interesting

New series of Eureka will be airing on SyFy in July which is fun to watch.

Don't know much about this Game of Thrones series apart from some good, familiar actors in the cast. Hope it turns out well.

I also wonder what the next 'big' thing is going to be to be honest. BSG and Lost kind of shared that crown between them tbh, and now with both of them gone i wonder whats going to come next :).

Castle & Justified I think are both worth watching.

Castle is a police drama type thing but with a bit of comedy as well and has Mal from firefly in the lead role. 2nd series has just finished in the states.

Justified is another cop drama with the chap who played 47 in the hitman film in the lead role. When it started in the states it was the most popular new series on the FX network since the shield.

I've been enjoying The Mentalist, that's on season 2 now.
There's not really that much on right now that's grabbed me in the same way shows like 24, Lost, BSG did.
House is always great but not really 'new'

true blood :D season 3 starts soon in america (even my mum watchs it lol)

spartacus blood and sand is good aswell they managed to make every episode better than the last so the show starts out a bit average and ends up with "an OMFG i cant believe it epic" ending to the first series.

the special effects are a bit "meh" but seems to get a lot better at the end
