Last nite i did one of my nocturnal drives, here to plymouth to tavistock to a30 to exeter to plymouth to home, lol. random.

Anyway i was driving back on the a38 from exeter and wondering to myself, if i owned a f430 scud, on these empty roads what speed i could hit, if you know the road, dual carrigway, completely empty, 2am.

Went under a bridge but just before noticed a traffic police volvo sitting on it, only saw it at the last minute.

Now if you own a supercar, and you cant go over 70 in the middle of the night at the safest time possible for other road users, what is the point of owning one at all ?

I can only dream of owning a balloon white LP640 Roadster in these summer days, wow imagine cruising with the roof down and listening to that V12? Who cares about doing the 200+MPH its capable off, I’ll be more than happy to stick to the limits while every single hotty looks at you! :D

If I had a supercar the sense of occasion, feeling of owning such an item, the attention (even the negative "******" comments from morons) would be enough justification.

However, I do ask myself the same question about more mundane cars with a bit of grunt. Sometimes I find it hard to justify my car for that reason.

So your saying if you had that lamborghini you wouldnt have found yourself doing well over 100mph underneath that traffic car ?

Most people i know with lumpy cars are well past caring what other people think.

By 'lumpy' I'll assume a decent car... That's all well and true, but you probably wouldn't see them in a Focus if they could afford that 911 ;)

Discipline?

I probably have no taste but i would seriously consider a normal white rs focus if i had that sort of money, as a daily driver.

i think that, probably, one of the joys of owning exotica is that at any moment you could plant it and own the road up and for some, that's enough :)

If you're in that kind of car you'll be long gone before the traffic car has even got onto the carriageway. Unless they happened to be pointing an ANPR down the road and were able to read your plate they'd never find you.
