Isn't today 10.5 cats day?

Screw that, WTF ATI doing, why should single monitor users suffer this bull, back to 10.4, lazy fix by ATI, if ATI don't sort themselves out soon, back to Nvidia I go.

This driver has been well tested by ATI, they will know that if you overclock then expect max mem clock and high core clock and in turn higher temps whilst idle, it's lazy, single monitor uses are paying the price for ATI's botched fix.

I'm going back to nvidia myself. Going to rma my 5770, save up and off I go!!

+ I can also adjust the fan speed myself :p

Does this mean that people running a single HD5870 can actully max out BF AA and AF with CCC ?
I want to max it with xfired cards and it won't allow it, unsure why CCC won't over ride the game.

ATI Catalyst Control Center – forced on Anti-Aliasing is now supported in the following titles: Supreme Commander 2, Dirt2, Avatar and Battlefield Bad Company2 (single GPU configurations)

Are idle temps really that important? Surely load temps are more to worry about?

You see I like to keep my PC cool especially in summer, 10.4 I idled at 32c. I'm currently at 53c with 10.5 this all adding to ambient temps, I could go through the hassle of setting default clocks every time I leave a game and overclock when gaming, but why should I when it worked perfectly before, lazy fix.

What exactly are the idle temps going to?

Edit - Too late to the button, what are the load temps like aswell?

Riddle me this:

ATI separated the game optimizations (app profiles) from the driver release so they could introduce game improvements between driver releases.

That's all well and good, but they only update the app profiles at the same time as releasing a new driver. All it does is complicate things. Not impressed.

Am I missing summink?

Looks like i'll stick with 10.4 unless you folks can show me some impressive performance improvements across the board.

I'd like to get Split/Second running in very high mode.

The game profiles are completely confusing me aswell. Don't see why I can max something out yet not others. Takes away the fun. The profiles still aren't up either so not impressed.

If you don't overclock you will have no problems.

Sure SS does not support xfire.

Up until now they have only included updated profiles at the same time.

But that does not mean that they may not come a time for when a profile after a new game comes out will be needed mid month.

What a hassle to keep checking though, should be auto updated via catalyst. It amazes me that after all these years we can't have a balloon from CCC tell us an update has been found for driver etc. It's madness.
