Apple is now bigger than Microsoft

I love these Microsoft vs Apple threads :)

But personally do you actually have any choice when buying a Mac computer? Just check selection of mac pc components you can buy from any online store, I have never seen any in my life!!!!! Can you build a mac pc just how you like when you build a normal pc that will run Microsoft software? Me don't think so.

I love my freedom with normal pc and Microsoft software, I can change any component I like and it'll still work just fine.

There is tons of software available free and paid and you can buy it from anywhere you like.

I like iPhones but I just can’t justify the cost of it and also every piece of software you want for it has to come from apple store, no?

When I will finally make a move to smart phones I will probably consider one of the Nexus phones.
 
I have no issues with Mac. Just with their fans and those ingenious people they call 'Mac Specialists'.

I've been to a Mac store once, with a friend who needed to replace his iPod. While my friend was busy, the floor manager had a conversation with me:

"Hi there. Would you like to try out our new [model]"
"No thanks"
"Why not?"
"Because I have no intention of buying it"
"Really? How come?"
"Because I don't like Macs"
"Ah come on, everyone who hasn't used them says that!"
"I have. I've never used a Mac that hasn't crashed on me, or had software crash on me and lose my work, take twice as long process what I want it to do whilst costing twice as much as my machine back home that i've never had a problem with"
"Ah, I see. That's because you're a windows user. Windows users don't get on with Macs, because the Mac knows you're not trying. You have to try really hard and the Mac will accept you, and then it'll all be worthwhile!"
"...Where's my gun?"

Then I have to deal with coursemates telling me on a regular basis (Once or twice every five minutes) how their new Mac is the best thing since sliced bread, how it can do anything, nevers breaks or crashes and how it's great that they have the processing power of an 'Intel 40 gigawat X42' or some garbage.

On the plus side, when their machines lock up (Instances which of course are ignored or explained away) it's a lot of fun to exclaim "Wow! It just works!"

It's been two or three weeks. Give the guys a break haha.

More and more games are coming to OS X and Valves push along with Blizzard should help this. I bought Command & Conquer Generals for mine today so I could play it against friends instead of having to use VMWare.
 
Apple computers are crap as they only have one mouse button and you can't do anything on them that you would normally do on Windows, only gay people buy Macs, etc.
 
Why pay for a Mac, when you can get a PC that is equal or better in performance for less? Yes macs do look good, but you can upgrade a PC, you can choose every part & put it together. I love the article I found a while back about Apple bitching about how Flash isn't open. read the hypocrisy.

Open Source isn't much of an issue for their commercial stuff as they want sup[port not just a cheap product with little support.

Because most of the time the price difference is negligable to any other shop bought pc with the same spec.
You can't run OSX on a pc or any of the OSX specific software which is largely very good.
 
I saw this before, and the way they measure 'size' isn't that reliable.

Wouldn't touch anything made by Apple with a barge poll. Maybe I would Microsoft if i had to, at least they exploit their users to a lesser degree.

market cap is tradable stock. MS is smaller because a lot is held and not traded by bill gates
