Anyone else feel servers (in general) are laggy all the time? Annoys the hell out of me!

At the moment getting worse everyday.

Never really had to complain about hit reg before but the last few nights when I have had a quick game it has been pretty diabolical. Ran in a room and shotgunned some fool 3 times in the back of the head from point blank, he turned and calmly knifed me to death. Think half the street could hear me the volume that rant reached :p

Well we're all going to I-series.... but what to play

I do like that good 'ol Thompson with my motion trackers :)

I gave that a go for a few rounds, gotta say it works good for points and the Thomson is my fave new weapon when running in it's awsome, never really used it before, only had 12 kills with it and after a few rounds I only need 4 more for silver star, only had 45 motion mine assist aswell, now it's something like 90 after them few rounds :)

I think it's a bit of luck aswell as when running round to the enemy they don't expext to see an enemy recon anywhere near them so they hold fire a little thinking I'm on there side, and you open up and kill them.

My favourite combo at the moment is Sniper: VSS + C4 + Magnum + M9. All close combat though, none of this camping on hills. The VSS is surprisingly versatile.

I'm usually playing on the Atacama Desert 24/7 servers now, love that map and the games you get are priceless. I was on the OcUK server for a bit last night, but left because it hit 32/32 players and i feel the lag over a 24/24 server.

Yesterday two of my mates and I won nearly 20 SQDM's in a row :D
The SS I posted earlier was one of them.
Sometimes, a decent team seems nstoppable. I was suprised the server wasn't emptying :P

I've already asked for it to be dropped to 24 slots - I may keep it around a bit longer but I'm tempted to go to a different GSP to be honest.

i don't get the moaning on this? i have had no bugs or crashes, im aware of the knives issues so limit my knife action, i still play this all the time and think its great, you live and learn.

fun wise i find it quite amusing to shoot my own team mates with the flare target guns, so they are 'lit' up running around with a purple dot on there arse

This TBH. I'm not having no issues at all tbh bar the crappy knife issue.

Yes the hit reg isn't the best but i dont play this game religiously for it to **** me off. I just laugh, run along, and kill the git next time.

Thought i'd share this with you

I've been playing BC2 on my old PC since release day, I had to force DX9 and run most settings on low with no AA to get decent FPS on line, my latency would be anywhere between 160 and 200 depending on how busy the server was, if was too busy it would go over 200 and be unplayable

So what I hear you think...

I built a new PC this week but i'm using the SAME GPU. Last night I install BC2 and i'll be honest I didnt expect that much of difference but I thought i'd try letting it apply the default DX10, put everything on high, 4 x AA and loaded a game up, this is in 1680 in both cases. I was wrong, the difference is incredible, everything is smooth the graphics are better and my latency is lower, ive seen it as low as 90's and as high as 150 but usually around 120/30. Plus I noticed weird things too, theres more voices and sounds, weird but there is.

Thought i'd let you all know, seems the game is more CPU intensive than I realised and if its been mentioned already apologies but this thread is nearly 500 pages long

Ironically I played crap all night because I cant used to it :D

I had a similar experience upgrading my CPU. CPU had been the weak point on my setup for a while, but still handled other games very nicely. On BC2 it was struggling on low settings in 1920x1080. Got a slight CPU upgrade, left everything the same and was playing with maxed settings without a hitch.

I could show you my 5770 being bottlenecked by an E8400 at 4.5GHz. Had to turn up the eye candy to actually get it to go above 70% usage

I think your gpu is holding you back, my e8500 is only running at 3.8 = (

What sort of fps are you getting? Mine are around the 50-90 range, but my cpu is always maxed out and my gpu rarely is. If I crank up the AA/AF/HBAO/Shadows it then becomes severely gpu limited, but where I'm at now I'm cpu limited for shizzle

everything is max at 1920x1080 and i'm getting 60-90fps = ) only because i got 2 5850s. I know my cpu @ 3.8 is slowing me down a bit, my memory is not letting me run at higher speed.

I dont get much lag when there's a heavy explosions during gameplay.
