Installing as I type this. After playing BC2 I feel like playing BF2. I haven't played BF2 much at all.. never really gave it much of a chance.

Anyway what I'm after is some advice on patches / tweaks(hit rig, latency, fps, etc) / mods(?)

Basically is there anything I should do before playing the game? :)

I would've posted in the big BF2 thread but couldn't find it :p
 
Change the map in hud to follow player & change the crosshair to a solid red colour then go in sound & change All voice to English.

Welcome back to the best online FPS bar none. (imho)

I did some 'tests' with various colours for the crosshair in several maps and several different areas of the map and pink came out the best and offers bests clarity throughout. :P

And yeah I agree.:D
 
Thinking about buying this because there is literally nothing to play.

How am I gonna find it since I've never really played it before, steep learning curve I'm guessing...

haha, I've always used solid pink as well.

Off-topic, any new on 2142 patch yet? Heard something about needed a programmer from BC2 while it was in beta, nothing since.

Not really. It IS quite a bit different to BC2 and there are a lot of seasoned vets on BF2. Keep your head down and your eyes open, soldier! :p

Not at all mate, The beauty of the game is that Anybody can kill anybody. Rank means nowt if the Nub is in a Tank & 3 star is on foot. :D
What you do have to do though is get into a squad as it would be tough for a nub to go solo.

I'l come game with you mate, been meaning to get back in to BF2 as BC2 has fallen way off the mark!
 
Bored of BFBC2 cos its broken , badly.

Just installing BF2 again and with the new 1.5 patch :-)

I wonder if its as good as I remember ;)

There are many things wrong with it.

From a clan leaders point of view:

* No clan support
* Server stability is beyond a joke
* No active competitive ladders about due to no match config settings
* No supported Mix mode

From a players point of view:

* Game has no real depth
* Its an arcade version of the great previous BF games
* They brake more than they fix during patches
* Have shown no commitment long term to the game by advertising MOH in there.
* Is a basic console port
* Once you get past a certain rank the game is absolutly boring
* Very few not so great maps

The game is good dont get me wrong.... but its for consoles.... not PC gaming!
