I know the answer to this will be "how long is a piece of string", but I'm interested to see how OcUKers have fared in their jobhunting efforts. I've kept an Excel with date, job title, company, whether they've responded or not, if I'm through to interview and if a job is offered, or if I'm rejected. When my dad got made redundant a few years ago, he applied for exactly 100 jobs, had 10 interviews from that 100, then 3 job offers from that 10. That's 100 : 10 : 3 to him. For me at the moment, I'm getting 100 : 6 : 0 and obviously nothing to show for it. How's everyone else doing?

i came out of university in may 09 and ive applied to about 80 jobs. (im not at home at the mo so cant check) ive had 7 interviews and no offers.

i think im going to change my cv to see if i get any luck

I think I am quite lucky that I have been turned down for two jobs before interview but have a 100% if I get to interview. I can talk a good game. ;)

That is at least 10 jobs including my current job, where I blagged double my salary to my previous.

Back in 2005 I applied/enquired about around 100 runners jobs in Production/Post Production, of that 100 I had 3 interviews and got 1 job offer, I'm still with the company but I've had 6 different positions with them so far and got head hunted by another firm, who I left for but my old company got me back a week later with a new position.

I've had other jobs previously, which works out at around 4 applications, 4 interviews and 3 job offers.

Congrats Papa. I don't have the charisma at interview, well at least at 2nd interview. I always pass 1st interview no probs, then fail at 2nd. (unless it's just 1-interview process then I'll fail that). I think the fact that I'm disabled puts off most employers too.

As far as ratios go... last time I was looking for work I was getting interview requests from approx. 1/3rd of the ones I applied for, job offers from about 1 in 60-70 - but probably half of the places that interviewed me said something along the lines of "you were our second choice" or asked me back for a 2nd interview.

I've been to about 6 interviews since leaving uni in 2002. I've had three offers, two of which I accepted. I can't remember not being at leased offered an interview even if i didn't go.

So far (and the job hunt started about 2 weeks ago) 2:1:0, but I've just applied for 4 more, so they're all pending, but I presume I'll be 6:1:0 this time next week :p

In my career, I've had 3 jobs over 9 years, had 5 interviews, and an internal offer which I turned down, and 1 job which I turned down as it was crap pay plus they wanted me to do shift.
